Fair question.
That's fair. Thanks for pointing it out. My point should be corrected in this case, but it still stands: that's not how it works.
Should you've stopped at "everyone can be racist", the comment would've been an excellent, if oversimplified, synthesis of the issue.

E:

> No one wants to debate pedantic redefined terms

Some do, and we can give them the space to do that without implying that the effort is automatically deserving of consideration.

> pedantic redefined terms that liberal arts professors came up with so they could sell books

That's a somewhat silly thing to argue. That's not how it really works, and it's not a "liberal" thing, whatever that may mean. (I assume it's an American term meant to designate something that's not conservative.)

Otherwise, what you say is correct.

And they can also build or order bespoke ones, reducing the risks.

That was a weird list, save for one or two suggestions. Should someone suggest a list of alternatives in this context, they would very likely go with Drupal, Joomla, October CMS etc. WP is a PHP-based free, self-hosted and open source CMS, there is absolutely no reason to suggest a closed SaaS version as an alternative. A Java-based self-hosted open source alternative? Maybe. A .NET one? I guess so.

But what's so tragic about it? All that death, destruction, and the potential impossibility of future human life? Some numbers look great, clearly we're winning here. It's only the doomsayers, the pessimists, the commies, the blue-haired people, the monsters that throw soup on glazed paintings that can't see how good it is.
That was a good read, and my respect for Purism increased a bit. (I say "a bit" because I knew very little about it before.)
There is not a genial bone in that man's body. At most, he's a successful predator.
