Thanks for the answer. I think I might write the neutral blog post and redirect people to it instead of explaining every time, thanks for the tip. It's not me in the video, but the editing makes it look like it is. I didn't really do anything wrong... if anything, I only try to help people, even if via misunderstood ways.

My friends are all saying this is nothing (both personally and professionally), but I know people do care about this, especially older / conservative people. If people get to know me, they understand I am very good professionally and also as a person.

I'm doing my best to focus on working, as I always do.

Thanks for the answer. Your advice is wise and people have been telling me the same: not to fight any further. The problem is the fake accounts are still active, despite all reports. The attacks continue (I've just received another email).

I've exposed the person before (when I warned people about his scams) and people in the Brazilian Startup scene know about this con man, I just don't think it's legally right for me to accuse him here without formal proof (IP address from Google, Facebook, Dropbox, etc), but pretty much everyone know who he is.

Ask HN: What are the first steps to report, take online content down and sue?

I'm considered to be a good developer in Brazil and I'm very active in the local Startup scene. I'm now being harassed by fake facebook/google accounts trying to defame me and my girlfriend. I want to get the content down and sue for every damage he's been doing.Long story short: This year I made an MVP for a Israeli/Brazilian guy without getting paid (plus having actually paid other...

Internal BI is the way to go. It gives better vision to those who make decisions. Congratulations! :)

This title is pure genius! Enough said.
You are the reason I read hacker news comments. This is so short, yet so true... and cleverly connects both subjects!
Re:"The whole Droplr stack runs on HTTPS" ...except content on Wednesday July 11, 2012 @02:34AM (#4228057)
Thx for the response! I've always been a droplr fan and, even thought ssl should've been there, I'm glad it's fixed and I'll happily continue to use it :)
(shades of different colors, actually.) well put.

Why use BeautifulSoup when LXML is available on Google App Engine?
thank you!!!
jstanley to not have my personal life linked with a specific site. Think of good programmers behind a big porn site choosing to keep their privacy. Except this site will sell stuff (services, not really products) to the end user (B2C). How to remain anonymous and still be legal?
ephan172, it's anonymity from publicly accessible means. (total blackout would consider making illegal/fake accounts, which is not the case here). I can secure my whois data, but can I secure my payment account? I have two use examples: ie: you sell items you'd rather not to be linked to you in any way (the same way people want discrete packaging when buying certain personal items) ie2: it's a grey area business, such as porn sites (can you completely hide your personal identity when receiving online payments?)
Just to be clear: I'm not talking about ads-based revenue, where the user has (supposedly) no means to track you down. I'm talking about money from subscription / purchases.

Ask HN: How do you prefer to anonymously receive money?

In case you run an internet business where you receive payments but want to remain anonymous (therefore your personal Paypal account won't be adequate), what method/services do you use?(ie: you sell items you'd rather not to be linked to you in any way. ie2: it's a grey area business, such as porn sites). Please explain your use case (whether you do B2C and/or B2B). Any advice is welcome... Thanks!

I love GAE, but these prices need to come down! CPU-intensive apps suffer the most!
"TBH this seems to me to be more of a StackOverflow question than Ask HN though." +1
Re:Poll: Do you have a CS degree? on Monday April 02, 2012 @02:26AM (#3786583)
One time I showed my 1st commercial web system to a teacher and he was so quick to say 'but this is not CS' it was sad.

I never said it was supposed to be CS, I just showed the system... His response had nothing to do with anything... His words were just a quick self-defense he seemed very used to use, in a pretty destructive way.

It took me some time to know University was doing no good to me, but now I'm past detox and I'm glad I dropped out.

I don't care if 'it is not CS', I learn whatever it takes to build awesome stuff.

Re:Request for Startups: Kill Hollywood. on Saturday January 21, 2012 @03:49PM (#3494549)
Exactly my thoughts...

Everyone still loves series and movies!!! A new proposed entertainment would go parallel and not kill hollywood...

There has to be a proper, cheap/free "itunes for series and movies". NOW!

Who's up for it? :)

Re:Ask HN: Who's looking for employment? on Sunday January 15, 2012 @11:03PM (#3469316)
Hello! Great topic! Roberto Civille Rodrigues, entrepreneur and self-taught programmer.

Started web development in php, mysql, javascript/jquery, then dropped out of computer engineering at university of São Paulo and jumped on Google App Engine (Python).

I'm looking for freelance/part-time job to support me while I'm starting my O2O startup.

We'll probably be perfect for each other if you are looking for a very dedicated Python GAE programmer with good jquery skills but only need remote work, no more than 20h/week.

Thank for the attention :) I'm easily reachable, just contact me!
