Source?

It's both, according to another comment.
Re:OpenRouter is joining Stripe on Wednesday August 19, 2026 @03:09PM (#49365874)
But it's not really that difficult to make a clone of OpenRouter's service. What they do isn't really that original.

Their only value comes from the fact that the currently have lots of traffic. And I dkn't think that their cumstomers are really bound to theur servuce. They could switch to a competitor without too much hassle.

Why not just add a rule such as: "Non paying customers can only upload X commits per day"

X doesn't even need to be that low. It could be 100 or 200. Just something that slows down the agents that spam them with commits/pushes.

I just used UBlock Origin to block the "Get the app..." message.
What's missing for me is that they never seem to mention which social media platforms in particular these statements are directed at.

There are many social media platforms, some of them similar, but some are also vastly different from each other (e.g. Hacker News vs. TikTok)

Making statements about all of social media without such clarifications makes them pretty unreliable for me.

Yes, there are so many other 2FA authenticators, many of them even open-source. Why would you ever use the Microsoft one?

One-time pad has 2 problems:

(1) The key can only be used once. If you use the same key for multiple different messages it's not secure anymore.

(2) The key has to be the same length as the message.

With those 2 restrictions, OTP is not really that feasible for practical applications.
