CRUD: Node vs. Rails

If one is building a CRUD/BASE website to be used on both mobile and desktop browsers, which would be the best framework to use on the server side, Rails or Node?I'm building the site to serve a niche segment of the social dating marketplace. It will be profiles, email, a lot of uploading and viewing of pictures. I want my users to primarily access the site through mobile devices but there...

Re:How not to design a CAPTCHA on Tuesday July 12, 2011 @04:25PM (#2756385)
I can't believe Google is criticizing how Sony does CAPTCHAs when I've been complaining for years about how difficult Google's are to read. But as to their point, based on Sony's recent security issues, it doesn't sound like Sony has a very good IT department.
I think many of you are missing the point. One could argue both for and against killing the elephants. I think what's important here, and this is just a guess on my part, is that 1) I believe that Parsons was using this as an excuse to kill some really big wild game in Africa to show how "manly" he is; and 2) he clearly enjoyed it as evidenced by the big smile on his face in the pictures. For comparison, American Indians used to kill buffalo but I don't think they gloated over it as Parsons is doing. They had reverence for the buffalo and demonstrated that by using every bit of each buffalo they killed. Parsons, on the other hand, just did it for the thrill of the kill and that, to me, is wrong.

By the way, I moved all of my domains off GoDaddy last year. I got tired of paying above-market prices just so that GoDaddy could create those lame Super Bowl commercials. Also, their UI sucks.

Re:An open letter to Cupertino about the App Store on Saturday November 21, 2009 @10:24AM (#954598)
Germany made this mistake before World War 1. In an effort to enhance their security, they put a lot of effort into developing their military. This frightened all of their neighbors who banded together against Germany and went to war with with. So, in trying to enhance their security, Germany actually made themselves less secure. Apple is doing the same thing today with the App store. Steve, developers, not the customers, are the heart of the App store. Lose them and you'll end up losing it all. Don't be stupid, fix the App store and fix it soon. Our patience is almost gone.
