Ask HN: Linode equivalent of Dedicated Server?

Posted by rk0567 on Sunday January 24, 2016 @11:20PM
from the ask-hn dept.

I've been using Linode/Digital Ocean for most of my side projects and I'm quite happy with their service. For one CPU intensive project, I need a dedicated server. What do you recommend ? I'm looking for a reliable dedicated server with lots of CPU power and no-downtime issue.

Re:Ask HN: How do you get good domain names? on Monday June 22, 2015 @12:37AM (#9756173)
I'm using .co domain for couple of my side projects [0] and they rank well. So, from SEO point of vew, it's as good as .com.

Maybe not, yet. But over a period of gradual improvement, it may offer something unique to certain niche. e.g beginner users, who would prefer a tax calculation tool with a clear and easy to understand step by step guide, followed by some tax related advise etc (something similar to what you've recommended). Thanks.

No. Data never leaves the browser (temporarily stored on client's browser using sessionStorage).
Re:Show HN: Income Tax Calculator on Tuesday June 09, 2015 @07:17AM (#9685151)
yeah, I couldn't find anything else.

Points noted. It's the initial version of what I wanted to build. I'll add more features gradually as I get some input/suggestion from the users. Thank you.

Re:Show HN: SoundCloud Downloader Tool on Wednesday April 29, 2015 @08:04AM (#9457649)
I thought I'm just extracting the final_download_link, so it would be okay. (As, in the end, content is getting served from their CDN)

Would you elaborate that ?

~$1k+ per month from few side projects.

+ pc builder site http://assembleyourpc.net (I created ~1.7 years ago, generates revenue from Adsense and few affiliate programs, 2-6 hours of work (per month))

+ other niche tools : http://portchecker.co and http://signature-maker.net (weekend side projects, 0-2 hours of work(per month))
