We got good response from HN when we first launched quarkbase an year back. We hope to get feedback on usability & content.

We are partnering with Jquery Swarm to run Jquery unit tests! ... so this will happen very soon.

Browserstack needs Java only for creating local tunnel via web interface. For the rest it uses Flash!

Thats entirely a different problem, as of now we are completely focused in providing browsers across OSes and Mobile platforms with a very easy to use UI!

Yes, compete only monitors US traffic but still better than alexa.
I think, Compete measures traffic in the US, so it will accurately measure traffic for sites which are either hosted in US or getting almost US traffic. This implies accurate traffic estimates for many sites.
