I've worked in a similar asian country and that's one of the reasons I left. You cannot intellectually and professionally grow in this sort of environment.
Ok so I have a soy sauce, or so I think it is, stain that I can't remove on a shirt. Is it still possible to clean it? Nothing I've tried seems to get rid of it.
As an atheist, Seneca's Moral letters to Lucilius is my bible. My compass when life gets hard.

These comments about how the market is on fire for developers always make me sad. Not your fault, but outside the US (and maybe western/northern Europe) you get lowballed hard, even with years of experience. And the supposedly lower CoL doesn't make up for it, at all, not even remotely. I'm not even talking about getting crazy bay area compensations, I'm talking about hoping something better than a $25k-$45k range for experienced engineers.

Marcel Proust wrote a piece on the subject.

> since within twenty-four hours, in the empty frame of that long morrow in which everything was so well arranged because I myself had not yet entered it, my good intentions would be realised without difficulty ... Unfortunately the morrow was not that vast, external day to which I in my fever had looked forward. When it drew to a close, my laziness and my painful struggle to overcome certain internal obstacles had simply lasted twenty-four hours longer.

Isn't it some sort of equilibrium? If you want to criticize A, host your website in B land (A's ennemy). If you want to criticize B, host it in A land. It works while they both remain ennemies. Nemo judex in causa sua (no one is judge in his own cause).
