Very cool! I see the comments about Kitty. Any other terminals well supported?
Re:Glowforge launches consumer-grade laser cutter on Thursday September 24, 2015 @03:24PM (#10273997)
What a shame... I am in the market for a home laser to replace the Epilog I use (at a makerspace), and this looks amazing. I won't be buying it if it's cloud-only, though. :(
Re:U.S. Coding Website GitHub Hit with Cyberattack on Sunday March 29, 2015 @12:42PM (#9285473)
For those that find this doesn't work (like me), just go to google and type the name of the article.
Re:GitHub under ongoing DDoS attack on Sunday March 29, 2015 @12:37PM (#9285456)
Thanks (China) for doing this on a weekend! Works out well for what I imagine are a large portion of Github's paying users.

Please stop by tomorrow morning.

Same here (in firefox). Tried in Chrome and it works fine.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Funny how them pointing out the failures of the product make it seem cooler (since it seems more real).
Thanks :) I (OP, and blog author) have been doing Etsy for a little over a year now and try to blog about my process. I don't get a ton of sales (a few a month), but it's a fun side-project.
Re:Security incident update on Tuesday April 16, 2013 @11:09AM (#5558552)
Why won't they just tell us the private key's passphrase, so we can judge for ourselves how secure it is?

Re:There's No Protection In High Ports on Sunday February 17, 2013 @03:57PM (#5236707)
I like some mix of the following:

- disable passworded logins (only keys)

- ssh bastion host

- decoy ssh honeypot on port 22 (http://www.plainlystated.com/2013/02/ssh-honeypots-dataviz/)

Re:Vulnerabilities in dozens of Military and Pentagon websites on Saturday February 02, 2013 @11:49PM (#5158674)
My thoughts exactly.. though I didn't have the guts to paste these into my curl.

Re:Ask HN: Hostname Conventions for Distributed Systems? on Wednesday January 16, 2013 @12:36PM (#5067920)
Yeah, the tokenized strategy is kinda going after the ephemeral nature of the boxes, which is why I like it. Do you use the numbered approach?

Ask HN: Hostname Conventions for Distributed Systems?

I've gone through a variety of hostnaming strategies over the years, and the one I use now is <service><##> (eg zookeeper01).With distributed systems in particular, but any system in general, boxes can come and go, and I hate having holes in my names (eg zookeeper01, 02, 04, 05, 06). That, and by choosing the number of leading zeroes, you're guessing at the max number of servers...
