Comparing RMS to Jobs and Ballmer is a joke. RMS is way more capable and he devoted his personal life for the sake of good. Jobs and Ballmer are just business people.

Re:I Took a Pay Cut for a More Meaningful Job on Wednesday August 28, 2019 @06:31AM (#20818432)
Just curious. Are you financially well off ?

Are you very confident in your skill that you have no worry of being unemployed at all ?

My personal opinion is that people who are not gifted but work very hard and have an average IQ can not take risks like leaving a tenure job unless they are free of financial responsibilities.

What are you thoughts ?

Can't stress enough. Never over drink at party. Keep it to single glass.
Hello down voter care to reason. My question is genuine. I think the author has some point, but just that i could not get it. May be i should have asked to describe more which would have clarified my intent properly.
> You would not believe how much smoother everything at work is when you learn to recognize early the signs that you're holding on to a bad opinion, or that you're headed towards a fuckup, and just saying it out loud.

Doesn't this make you feel good but piss of the other person even though they may be wrong? On the other hand it never wears off if you don't let it out, but the problem is there are lot more peoples opinions to consider other than the person you are dealing with. Its lose-lose situation.

It already exists https://www.torproject.org .
Re:MITM on HTTPS traffic in Kazakhstan on Friday July 19, 2019 @08:21AM (#20477973)
In the meanwhile consider using Tor https://www.torproject.org . It has different transports transport plugins available if that will make the traffic look like regular traffic and not Tor traffic.

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? on Friday July 05, 2019 @07:12AM (#20361592)
very cool
Its refreshing to see the sentiment among HN crowd has shifted and embracing RMS. Few years ago the comment section was dismissing RMS outright as not being practical.
> If anyone is capable, they are.

True. Even the audience for this will be devs which is right fit to make a decentralized community.

>I think 'who holds the power?' is a good lens to try to judge this through.

Eventually some one with bad intentions will end in power even if started with a pretty good guy(Example: US president start and end). Its better to think of the worst and place the checks at the earliest (like the constitution)
