On first read, I was prone to agree with the author -- why put down someone seeking your input? Then I read your comment and went through it again. After a re-read I think you have it right. The response was direct, and perhaps quite cutting to the author who had devoted significant time to the article only to be told they're one of hundreds who have made the same mistake. But the only denigrating in the linked blog article seemed to be the grouping with others who had fallen into the same trap.

To me the image in question is unbelievable because there is no place to work -- no paths to walk. Even in the most cluttered offices a narrow corridor to the abused but available chair is sacrosanct, in my experience at least.

Being aware of this bias is important -- in the same way that being aware of bias in all media is important. I don't think that there's all that much blame to be assigned. If anything, it's an interesting lens into the biases that exist in the training material.
But the goal shouldn't necessarily be to twist the model into knots to avoid any hint of harmful stereotypes. The goal should be awareness for those using them, and development of tools to mitigate when needed.

Oh, that's a great idea. I have a doc that I maintain by hand, either via ">>" or editing directly. Time to go and make a shortcut. Do you do any annotation to help with the search?

I've taken to using both vim and nvim, with nvim having copilot. There are times when I'm going in, knowing that I'm re-inventing the wheel, or that I'm refactoring. For those times when I feel like copilot would just get in the way there's vim.
Both copilot and GPT4 have been wonderful 80/20 tools in different ways, and give a remarkable new way to learn.

Regardless of the accuracy of the origin story, Confabulation Theory[0] is the first place that I can recall this sort of explanation that combines knowledge with "honest lies". I don't know how accepted his definition of the word confabulation really is, but it seems a good descriptor of what's going on. Not a hallucination, but more an issue in walking the connections between concepts, with knowledge being stored in the edges.

Any of the eight tuples should probably not be in order ( or just let one of them through ). An easier method might be to limit shuffling to once every minute.
Neat concept!
edit: burningfrog's suggestion is an alternative to shuffle that would be even better https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30221479
