YouTube music is 95% broken for me too. UK.
Re:Linear sent me down a local-first rabbit hole on Friday August 08, 2025 @09:06AM (#44836527)
At least for me this site is completely broken on mobile. I'm not saying it's not possible to write sites for mobile using this tech... But it's not a great advert at all.
Re:Mr Bates vs. the Post Office on Saturday January 06, 2024 @05:08PM (#38895997)
After watching this I'm actually scared as a software developer. What an incredible programme. It has definitely opened my eyes to the effects our software can have in the real world.

Some of us don't like installing apps for what should be perfectly usable websites.

Ask HN: Why is Reddit so awful?

from the ask-hn dept.

The website itself, not the content.Although I'm just a casual user of Reddit, it's hard to avoid the fact that Reddit is absolute garbage. It seems to me as everything they've done in the past few years is to the detriment of users; especially with them following the trend of writing it all in a shiny SPA (that doesn't work half the time).Apart from constant connection errors, lots of the time...

Re:Amazon buys 11 Boeing 767s to expand its cargo fleet on Tuesday January 05, 2021 @06:01PM (#25652445)
This is what I speculated above. Basically AWS for logistics. It can't be far off in many countries such as USA/UK

The sheer size of Amazon is mind boggling. Is there anywhere they've opened their logistics network to other operators yet? Like AWS but for their logistics.

Amazingly, as far as I can tell anyway, there's not even a "report listing" button. Incredible.
Re:Minimum unit pricing may have helped reduce alcohol-related deaths ... on Friday September 20, 2019 @08:10AM (#21025735)
Basically. There is a minimum price set of 0.50 per unit. This means a bottle of whisky, 70cl at 37.5% ABV cannot retail for less than £14 whereas previously these would be on promotion sometimes at £11/£12/£13.

By setting it per unit instead of quantity of drink the government targets super strength cheap cider etc that were linked to lots of anti-social behaviour and crime.

Very interesting read. Author should have submitted the problem and solution as part of a bug bounty perhaps. Something for us all to watch out for.
