Re:AI Isn't Replacing SREs. It's Deskilling Them on Friday October 30, 2026 @12:07PM (#50305937)
I dug into general AI deskilling a couple days back[1] - no good signs anywhere, but there's a few things we can do like make concerted efforts to do programming (like a coding hour every week), do a Leet code question, and getting the agent to quiz before merging something (stolen from Notion).

Karpathy might be Raschka 2.0
It would be conspiratorial to not think that.

Isolation is a pretty big deal to be glossed over.
Why is she unpleasant?
Re:Cf: The Agentic CLI for the Cloudflare API on Monday September 28, 2026 @01:50PM (#49881740)
This is cool, but I've never had an issue with agents working on Cloudflare by just making REST calls. With the rest docs, it knows pretty much everything about what kind of operations it can do. Is the CLI a subset of that or does in encompass everything?
This is just for me, but I don't think I want to get into the business of specifying placement in that much detail. It would too cumbersome and I'd rather focus on what I want the diagram to convey, rather than how.
Seems a little buggy, I added this line:

edge parser -> renderer "test edge" from: left to: right

and it wasn't smart enough to make a curved arrow

This is awesome OP - very impressive. I'm definitely going to be using it to classify customer support tickets and log error classification. Thank you!

I use this to produce the task list which I then feed into a Ralph loop using a bash script. I save a lot of tokens since each tasks context is so small.
Re:Who Aligns the Aligners? on Monday September 14, 2026 @08:40AM (#49695863)
American presidents/power structures come from a small credentialed network of people. The congress is entirely bought and paid for since the early 70s, and the will of the people isn't represented in the policy. For sure the US (and China, and India) have a "checkered past", that's why I group them together and don't really differentiate the quality of their democracy. I'd argue India is probably the most democratic country with good results, simply based on the amount of people they have lifted out of poverty in the last two decades (Kishore Mahbubani's lectures are quite informative).

Back to US presidents/power structures: HW Bush was the son of Sen. Prescott Bush, and became president 8yrs after he left office. His other son Jeb was the 2016 establishment favorite and Florida governor. Al Gore was the son of Senator Albert Gore Sr. Mitt Romney was the son of George Romney (Michigan governor and 1968 presidential candidate). Dan Quayle's family owned the Indiana newspaper chain that helped make him. Hillary was Bill's wife before she was a senator, Secretary of State, and nominee. John McCain was the son and grandson of four-star admirals.

Biden and Obama were 2008 primary rivals, Biden became his VP. Harris went from attacking Biden over school busing and became his VP. Hillary Clinton had many racist attacks against Obama through 2008 and became his Secretary of State. John Kerry, who lost in 2004 then took the same job.

If this is a healthy democracy, then we definitely have different definitions of that word.

What's up with this split or democratic vs non-democratic countries? It doesn't even add-up because you can easily make a case that China is a democratic country with a far better system of governance and ability to control this problem than "Western" governments. Highly suggest this quick read on the different types of democracy in our glorious world[1].

That is a LOT of code for a pretty basic feature.
RFC 2119 style requirements have proven to be quite effective for me.

That may be true but it’s still capable of nuanced discussions.

Have to disagree with this as it's excellent at helping you wide and broad before converging. I suggest trying OpenSpec and use /ospx:explore to state your problem and go from there.
This has been working for me

Re:US and Iran announce deal to end military operations on Sunday June 14, 2026 @08:01PM (#48534554)
No, they tried to negotiate a new deal, not go back to the one they had agreed to. Why would Iran trust any new negotiations?

Iran was naive enough to trust the US twice in the last year and HAD THEIR NEGOTIATING TEAM BOMBED! I'm shocked they even trust the US to hold up to the deal they signed today. I'm guessing US concessions on frozen assets was just too much to pass up.

Re:US and Iran announce deal to end military operations on Sunday June 14, 2026 @07:34PM (#48534282)
Bad actors gone? I see Trump and Israel still around.
Re:US and Iran announce deal to end military operations on Sunday June 14, 2026 @07:33PM (#48534264)
You left out the part that they went past the 3.5% after Trump pulled out of the deal. While they were in it, they were complying fully as per IAEA and the US State department themselves.
