As the author you can always re-release the code under MIT but once it's released under MIT corporations can whole sale rip your work off for their own profit. If you keep it closed source or GPL it then you maintain some breathing room from another company just swooping in and monetizing you code for their profit.
I'm still confused on why facebook needs to be an app at all. They should just make the mobile browser version of their website the best way to experience facebook and then have people add the facebook mobile website to their home screen.
CEO's do this all the time with the US dollar and no one blinks an eye.
Uploading to Sia's Skynet, then emailing or texting the link.
ScPrime has been looking really good too!
Hopefully something like DTube (
https://d.tube/) is able to disrupt the Youtube market soon. This google censorship stuff is getting ridiculous.
> The old macbooks were great with the maglock power lead not pulling them off the desk. I believe new ones have downgraded the connector?
I have been using this Magnetic USB C Adapter and am very happy with it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0816PV1YZ/
The app store is a worse monopoly than IE ever was on Windows and should be treated with in the same fashion.
Yeah, so the problem is that the account number plus short code had no checksum validation. This is the banks fault for implementing a rubbish account system. A proper system would look more like this sudo code:
1234567890-1234-checksum(1234567890-1234).substring(0, 6)
where 1234567890 is the account number, 1234 is the short code, and then 6 characters are typed in at the end are a checksum.
The short code is unique. So if you type in the correct checksum but not the correct short-code the fully-qualified unique identifier does not pass the validation step. Like-wise, if you type in the correct short-code but not the checksum then the unique identifier also does not pass the validation step. Thus, the user is protected against typing in an incorrect short code.
This is why all account numbers should end in a 6 to 12 digit checksum verification, to protect against human input error. If this bank had implemented this simple precaution then the entire situation would have never occurred.

I suspect he did. Most likely the police planted the glass pipe that was found when searching for the tracking device so that they could obtain permission from the judge for the second search.
100% this. Original evidence found was probably planted.
Right or wrong aside, this is already illegal where I live by the same reason it is illegal to be sober and leave a bar as the designated decoy (ie: pretend to be drunk to distract an officer watching the bar for drunk drivers).
I suspect incorrect answers based on non-Christian religions will not get the same treatment as incorrect answers based on a Christian religion.
I got my wife a colored sapphire (champaine). She loves it but the moissanite stone was a no go for her as her perception of it was that it was a fake diamond. The cost for the sapphire vs. the moissanite stone were the same so I just wanted to mention this alternative.
Friend tax is a real thing. Its when a friend doesn't have access to something that the rest of the friend group has. For example, if your friend group uses Facebook messenger and Facebook events to plan stuff but you don't have that then they will try to include you through second-hand reach out such as texts or emails, in-person, etc. However, since you are not involved in the primary mode of communication you will miss important details and may even show up to incorrect locations as it is not clear who in the group is responsible for informing you of the change.
Just another form of bribing.
I am personally excited about DNS-over-HTTPS-over-TOR. No one can see what DNS you are requesting except for the TOR hidden DNS service which does not know who you are. Seems like the best possible mass-usage of TOR. Anyhow, that is my prediction where the next DNS war takes place.
> Is this supposed to be sarcasm?
Nope. A few years ago I used to really want a large-screened phone. Then I got one with a 5" screen and found out its clunky and awful to carry around. Standardizing the screen back to 4" or 3.5" would greatly improve my tolerance for carrying it around and, if the resolution were also standardized, would greatly simplify UX design.
> The only way I see around this is by re-introducing the 'obvious scroll bar' element...
Or Apple could do the right thing and go back to a 3.5" screen size on all their phones, no exceptions. Even a 4" screen size would be better than these clown-phone monstrosities. IOS could then just dead-pixel all pixels outside of the center 3.5" screen on all existing clown-phones for backwards compatibility.
Yes, my mistake. If I could edit the post I would.

> The word "theory" scientifically, does not mean "idea". It means a rigorously tested and researched collection of co-related ideas
@wickedsickeune
That is how I meant it. I posted that to refute @maxheadroom's comment:
> A proven deterrent? Do you have any facts to back-up your posit?
"Deterrence in relation to criminal offending is the idea or theory that the threat of punishment will deter people from committing crime and reduce the probability and/or level of offending in society." -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deterrence_(penology)So, punishment as a deterrent is currently a theory.
Yes, traditionally official exile to another continent was considered sufficient. However, eventually the United States, and later Australia, started refusing exile shipments. I suspect that Mexico would refuse exile shipments.
Right or wrong, a large function of the prison system is to ruin someone's life in a sufficiently public way for performing actions outside of the given society's norms and values to serve as a deterrent to those who would follow in their footsteps.
> Turns out the girl was ashamed she voluntarily slept with him.
This happened to a classmate of mine in high school but it was reported to the police. He shot himself in the head.
Personal opinion: Pictures and HTML have no place in email. Full stop.
I would use rate my professor to make sure that I didn't end up with an over-the-top difficult general class that I didn't really care about but needed to fulfill a requirement (Art history, public speaking, etc). That way I could optimize my study time to focus on in-major classes.
