Re:USPS announces changes to the postmark date system on Monday December 29, 2025 @05:31PM (#46426647)
Last year I was hit with a failure-to-pay penalty, even though I mailed the check on the deadline. When I spoke to an IRS agent, they claimed that the payment needed to be received, not postmarked, by April 15. Never heard of that before. He was kind enough to remove the penalty because it was a first time offense.

Since then, I pay electronically. Never again.

Wasn't the constitution ratified in 1788?

Great timing, I was just looking into Mautic.

If I have multiple brands, would I need to set up a separate instance for each one?

It was my understanding that Threads was scheduled to launch tomorrow. What happened?
Not surprised that QA is a problem with them. They don't even realize that one of their contract manufacturers isn't registered with the FDA.

Unless you are implying that JPM profited more than $172 million, the report suggests the government took the profits.

Re:New GitHub Issues Beta on Wednesday June 23, 2021 @01:23PM (#27607187)
This looks like a great step forward.

I always found it interesting that proposed enhancements are thrown into Issues. Maybe it's the word "issues" itself because I associate it with a negative connotation.

Pretty impressive that insurance isn't involved. I hope that becomes the norm, insurance should only be intended for catastrophic events.

That said, it's frustrating that consumers need to go through their employers to get their healthcare.

Please, submit a complaint to the CFPB. I promise you that the bank will flip over backwards to resolve your issue.
Re:Apple countersues Epic, seeks punitive damages on Tuesday September 08, 2020 @05:27PM (#24413635)
Why are people demonizing Apple over this? Sure, they have made questionable decisions in the past but Epic clearly went into this in bad faith and absolutely deserves a slap in the face with a countersuit.
Exactly. Why leave money on the table?

Interesting that their preview doesn't show any stars/reviews. I wonder if they will add this feature in the future?
Re:Ask HN: How do you push website updates to live? on Thursday April 30, 2020 @07:35PM (#23037538)
Primary business is selling products, and we have been building off an existing solution because of regulatory requirements.

Fortunately when everything is complete we would only need to focus on upkeep and maintenance, but it would be nice if we set a system in place now to avoid pain down the road.

Thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. I'll look into the tools you suggested. Our current processes are archaic and overdue for an upgrade.

Ask HN: How do you push website updates to live?

Hi everyone, I wanted to reach out to the community to see best practices for pushing updates to live sites.I run an e-commerce site running a php shopping cart system. The way the shopping cart is structured is admittedly a bit complicated, which makes me nervous when I push live updates to the site.Currently, I have a hosted dev site where I make changes, and when I'm ready for a release I...

Why not give the brand owners control of the product pages? They can decide to allow distributors and block counterfeits.

Use eBay if you want to take advantage of the first sale doctrine. At this point it's not worth the risk to Amazon's credibility.

You don't need to use their preferred printers.
