Re:Ask HN: Should I start with Android for mobile development? on Thursday January 09, 2014 @01:19AM (#7029098)
There's a course called Programming Mobile App for Android offered through Coursera that will be started soon. By looking at the syllabus, it focuses on Android ecosystem (UI, Gestures, Notification, Location) instead of the Java programming. You might want to brush up your Java knowledge prior to taking the class. I think it is very helpful if you don't have experience in developing modern mobile app (iOS, Android).

There will another more advanced course to compliment this called Pattern-Oriented Software Architectures for Concurrent and Networked Mobile Devices and Clouds - https://www.coursera.org/course/posa

Many thanks! I love the both the book and the screencast. The way that you arrange the words and sentences make it easier for non-native English speaker to understand. But for now I'll stick with the PDF version as it is more easier to switch between text editor, terminal, and browser.

Re:Leaving .net on Thursday September 23, 2010 @10:02PM (#1722313)
Seems like this is the trend nowadays around the world. Corporate developers with experience in .NET/Java start doing Python/Ruby or other open source stuffs. Some of them start learning iOS or Android platform just to start their own starup.

I'm praying 5 times a day. About 5-10 minutes in each session. It helps me to forget everything and focus on my pray and urge me to follow praying time. My mind become more fresh after each pray.
