Re:New Cities on Monday June 27, 2016 @07:23PM (#11990307)
I think a 24 hour economy should be a design goal of this city.
Re:“Guccifer2”'s second release from DNC hack on Tuesday June 21, 2016 @10:14PM (#11951109)
But, absent evidence, there's no reason to suggest anything is unreleased.
I'd never trust installing their apps on my phone. The Facebook app admittedly listens to the microphone. So Facebook messages will largely become a black hole for me too.
Re:Housing in the Bay Area on Thursday May 26, 2016 @03:59AM (#11776372)
San Francisco is not the whole bay.
Re:SS7 MITM Attack Against WhatsApp and Telegram on Tuesday May 10, 2016 @08:10PM (#11671720)
But we can easily assume that every major intelligence community has access to SS7.
Re:GNU Gneural Network on Sunday March 13, 2016 @03:49PM (#11279071)
Anyone else notice how GNU's website is stuck in 1993?
Like Hillary wouldn't. She has Drug Warrior in her blood.
The better evil is still fucking evil. Don't ever forget that.
Re:Eric Schmidt to head new Pentagon innovation board on Wednesday March 02, 2016 @11:38PM (#11215055)
But you have to be morally corrupt to hold a position like this.

Re:Apple’s Privacy Fight Tests Relationship with White House on Saturday February 27, 2016 @02:44PM (#11188147)
The real issue is that I have a fucking right to have my device be secure against the government. It's funny how you can only make sense of your argument when you get down in the weeds and lose sight of the big picture.
Re:Apple’s Privacy Fight Tests Relationship with White House on Saturday February 27, 2016 @02:40PM (#11188129)

Re:Magic+ on Wednesday January 06, 2016 @03:36AM (#10849312)
A lot of VCs read HackerNews...
Re:In Memoriam: Ian Murdock on Thursday December 31, 2015 @01:21AM (#10816500)
This is a fairy tale. In reality, municipalities don't go much out of their way to uncover their own wrongdoings. It is fallacy to assume that this would be handled properly.
Re:A Docker-inspired Heroku clone in 100 lines of PHP on Monday December 21, 2015 @01:28PM (#10772507)
I have never found "X lines of code" to be impressive. Write clean code and polish it and make it readable. Who cares how long it is. Hackers brag about lines, not engineers.
