Plotly is full of undocumented features. My guess is because they have an entire consulting business helping devs with this

But all the examples feel like people are being really lazy, e.g.

Re:Moving away from US cloud services on Tuesday March 18, 2025 @04:51AM (#43396992)
Since you are switching anyways you could try to adopt local first and that way you make sure you don't have yet another cloud dependency ie political dependency.
I thought this was gonna be about how washing machines always fail to accurately estimate how long it will take to wash
Re:ElevenReader by ElevenLabs on Wednesday February 12, 2025 @04:08AM (#43023421)
AI voice is literally the only way I have to "read" an obscure article during 1h non-static commutes.
Duckdb can't even hanlde edge cases in a csv (pandas does it no problem) so I wouldn't trust it to do anything useful at the filesystem level
Re:Show HN: Don't let your billion-dollar ideas die on Wednesday December 11, 2024 @09:12AM (#42387845)
Hi are the ideas supposed to be anonymous? because you are leaking everyone's names, just by opening network tab.

Can't wait for Google to release a breakthrough paper in 5 years just for the authors to leave and build OpenQuant
Is it a problem if you need a MRI?
Re:Please, Stop the Coding Challenges on Friday November 15, 2024 @02:20PM (#42149958)
Non paid solo-coding assessments should disappear. Many disrespectful companies send it automatically to all applicants to don't even look at them after.

Every time I get those I request to do a live coding assessment, if they are not willing to lose even 1h of their time they were not serious about you.

If you decide your process really requires a solo assignment you can offer a gift card to prove you appreciate the candidate (and don't be stingy, you are already saving a lot of money by not having 1 of your engineers interview)

Just found this in Perplexity, pity that this didn't get more upvotes. Just installed it if it works looks awesome thanks for building this!

Re:The Heist That Made the Mona Lisa Famous on Tuesday November 12, 2024 @06:32AM (#42114695)
It's funny that most of people think the Mona Lisa is a masterpiece when in truth there is nothing particularly interesting about this painting. Just the heist that made it famous
Re:Passport Photos on Thursday November 07, 2024 @10:29AM (#42077479)
how do you get certified to be a passport photographer?
Maybe we will finally start appreciating making short concise essays instead of useless filler pages like I had to do over the 20 years I spent studying.
maybe you could use shadcn and chatgpt to make it cuter

Re:Show HN: Bot or Not? AI voices vs. humans on Thursday September 19, 2024 @09:18AM (#41591575)
I got 100% easily, literally all the clean high quality voices are AI and all the voices that you can notice lower quality microphone are human. You don't even need to pay attention to how they pronounce
Re:Show HN: StarHog – See who starred your open source project on Tuesday September 03, 2024 @11:45AM (#41436081)
Cool project. Would be nice that if you only input a repo name without / it autocompletes to repo_name/repo_name like other star gazer apps do
Re:Ask HN: Where to find domain experts for 1:1 tutoring? on Monday September 02, 2024 @08:50AM (#41424971)
Looks for 1 AI expert. Uses AI expertise to build AI experts about anything.
Opened, uploaded image, looked good (it worked!). Then my browser (Arc) started freezing, unfroze after closing your website :/
It was about time. We definitely wasted a bunch of time making a server side arch for pretzelai.app because claude (unlike openai) didn't have dangerouslyAllowBrowser option. No idea why this took them so long
I used your free api and the response gives no insights, is that how it is supposed to work?

e.g. [ { "url": "https://pretzelai.github.io", "host": "pretzelai.github.io", "status": 200, "statusText": "OK", "duration": "0.167 s", "location": null } ]%

how do you handle latency issues in real-time voice conversations? what specific optimizations have you implemented in the orchestration layer to minimize delays between speech recognition, llm processing, and text-to-speech output?
Re:Show HN: Analyze Your Hacker News Profile on Tuesday August 13, 2024 @08:37AM (#41234857)

Hey I currently use Pocketpod, I really like that they get uploaded to spotify same as your product. Could you maybe elaborate why is this better?

I clicked the pricing button and asked me to log in, I assume this is not intended?
