Reading the room helps, which you seem pretty bad at.
Something can be true, and you don't need to point that out
buy a big monitor and hook whatever you want to it. samsung sells them and theyre about the same price as a tv, if not cheaper

Not going to read it anyway, I see too many AI flags that I can safely assume this is garbage written by a robot
private to private bribery is illegal, it doesnt matter if you're private or not. this is true in most EU countries, as well as the US, so I'm unsure where you're from
I feel like software factories try too hard to streamline something that needs human attention, but I could be wrong.
well, then do something about it ?! this seems like an insane solution. just keep throwing hardware at it until you run out of cash, i guess
"before i joined FAANG i was poor"
I dont think that's in the books for everyone
without sounding dense, can anyone tell me why i wouldve even considered trying Arc? just seemed like a hype train with no goal
your efforts are very much appreciated
its not a public company, there's no s1 or 10q to read
I dont get why some apps depend on Google Play functionality. Why can't I download Telegram on /e/OS
if you translate using AI, then I assume youre using something like DeepL
You used an LLM to translate, which lowered the quality of the post IMO
> javascript is required ... due to browser limitations
confusing when you don't explain which limktations this is
These descriptions are borderline insulting
> No sudo, no telemetry
Does it also not nuke your kernel? does it also not inject a keylogger? How will I know if it doesn't tell me! /s
if your job turns to putting square blocks in square holes, will you also be happy? because that's how coding feels like nowadays
> I'm not even super proud of it
well, scrap that
isnt the LLM the wasteful part?
Nonetheless why not let an LLM make a guide and use that in the release, I don't see how that's wasteful
on a VPS i host anything that preferably should stay online but isnt heavy. think DNS, headscale, forgejo, etc.
Using this, i can expose services on my home server without giving access to the internet to probe on it. I can host an immich server and not be afraid that someone can access it
would love an AE and InDesign clone, theres just nothing as good as either
make it double as an attachment for a stairlift and you have a seriously good product on your hands
don't focus on the twists, no one cares
how exactly do they "not work out"? its two behemoths merging for the sake of more money
Ironically, the US is always busy with growth. How about celebrating a victory for once?
Take a look at NLNet vs YC. At NLNet, You set your milestones, do the work and get rewarded.
YC just throws money in the hopes one company is a unicorn. Both support growth, but they're not comparable at all.
I spent a lot of my time on the internet because I was lonely in my teens and these connections were exciting. I learned software dev because I was a nerd that loved math and loved the concept of building software, having complete control on how it's done. That was the concept I signed up for.
Software dev today is sitting in front of a prompt bar, sometimes checking the IDE, sometimes some DevOps, but nothing about it excites me anymore. Even hobby projects are dull because they're done in mere days. Choosing not to use LLMs has little to no reward imo.
I'm slowly moving away from software dev because the rose tinted glasses I saw the job as are shattering
It hurts my heart too :) I thought it was something I had to push through, I was wrong.
I notice a lot more people moving to a career where they manage, as opposed to do the programming. I see why.
I'm slowly phasing out of my software role, I don't even have that much experience yet. I just cannot sit behind a PC for 40 hrs a week talking to a chat bot. I would rather do something useful with the time i've been given.
next time just write the post yourself. I don't need an entire paragraph to explain that deser = serde but reshuffled
I'm glad online randos know better than people who get paid to do so. I wonder why theyre on the paid side..
