All the "Doom" gameplay examples are sure indicative of this.

I’d be happy to see comments on Linux compatibility. Could someone please link to the forums?

Have you considered Cloud Foundry?
Re:Ask HN: Exercises to think, then speak, more clearly? on Wednesday August 10, 2022 @10:32AM (#32412640)
I haven't found many resources to impart this particular skill. However, two activites come to mind: 1. Read. Extensively. 2. Write. Learn to put thoughts into words as frequently as possible.

Congratulations to the Netlify team! They have a wonderful product and have managed to capture the imagination of the JavaScript universe!

or uRepair. I haven't gotten over the "My Computer"/"Your Computer" debate yet. Haha.
Re:The most brilliant bookshops in the world on Wednesday October 27, 2021 @06:03AM (#29011257)
Wonderful article, and as always love the additional mentions from the community!

Harvard Book Store, Cambridge, MA is my favourite. Fiercely independent. Great selection. Several calendar events.

Re:The World of Cricket Fighting on Sunday October 24, 2021 @09:54PM (#28983745)
The timing on this!

Saw this after a heartbreaking defeat my home team suffered in the sport Cricket. The article turned out to be something else entirely. A bit of a shock, and a pleasant surprise.

Re:Jetson One – Personal Electric Aerial Vehicle on Sunday October 24, 2021 @09:52PM (#28983735)
This is an amazing outcome! Three cheers to the founders and the team working on this project/company. As with most tech, it does seem like a Pandora's Box in terms of outcomes. Especially regulatory/safety issues.

I come from India, where median folks have a complete and utter disregard for traffic rules and safety regulations. I can't begin to think how we would adopt a technology like this. I mean, how would we start, how would traffic merge? Can we restrict/regulate the flow of vehicles in thin air?

The fact that this is a tech+social problem interests me even more.

Re:Reasons to switch from Windows to Linux on Friday October 22, 2021 @10:24AM (#28957584)
Probably does. I'm also guilty of not having given Windows a chance recently.
Re:Reasons to switch from Windows to Linux on Friday October 22, 2021 @10:11AM (#28957386)
My main reason for running Linux is the Terminal.

I'm 35. Began with computers ~10. Spent my first 10 years using Windows, followed by 10 years of the Mac. I'm (hopefully) in my 10-year Linux run?!

Move to a different city. Take an extended break. I’ve seen both these ideas work for me in the past.

Other ideas (ymmv): Pets

Re:Framework Laptop pre-orders are open, starting at $999 on Thursday May 13, 2021 @11:50AM (#27143482)
Congratulations to the founder(s) on the launch. Wishing you nothing but success! Nice to see a pluggable approach at a time when "repairability" is catching the fancy of the whole world.

If I had to nitpick, it would be the fact that Linux is unfortunately a second class citizen. However, I do see that support for mainstream distros is available. Can you possibly shed some light on that and be a bit more specific? What distros have you tested? What are the outcomes?

Re:Buildpacks vs. Dockerfiles on Monday February 08, 2021 @02:51PM (#26069248)
Maybe this video can help: https://youtu.be/vQkngZ2OsA0
This is a particularly non-issue as far as India goes. This applies to a lot of other places though.

So, in the spirit of the original article, I buy it.

Re:Do I Need Kubernetes? on Monday August 17, 2020 @12:00AM (#24183798)
Cloud foundry offers their old(er) architecture as well as 2 ways to get the “cf push” experience over Kubernetes. Check out KubeCF and cf-for-k8s. Both of these are open source projects that you can deploy to a Kubernetes infrastructure of choice.

Sensible design choices. Stock Android. Pocket friendly.

Such a clean offer. I'm amazed.

Re:OnePlus Nord – Announced on Wednesday July 22, 2020 @01:09AM (#23914120)
Consistently amazed by the quality of products, product categories, launch events, price point, and everything else about OnePlus! Congratulations to the team.

One gripe though - why not a tablet?

Re:India, Jio, and the Four Internets on Wednesday July 22, 2020 @12:57AM (#23914062)
What's more interesting than the topic discussed is the fact that Jio has been generating a large volume of chatter among prominent netizens, particularly in the tech space. I can point out to a slew of talks by Lew Later [1] in the past 15-20 days. Engadget [2]. Now Ben/Stratechery.

It's nice to see India's part in the space that business ∩ tech ∩ people, apart from always being the focus of H1B related news.

Re:OnePlus launches new TVs in India on Thursday July 02, 2020 @11:44AM (#23714533)
Amidst a mobile app ban against China, border tussles, and grassroots activism about boycotting Chinese products, a rather big splash by the China-owned electronics giant.
