Love the hack.
Re:Ask HN: I’m falling out of love with coding on Monday February 06, 2023 @09:26AM (#34677665)
I'm currently fighting with poor README instructions on how to get a project up and running locally. It's been a couple of hours already and I just want to code, not fight with these tools.
Re:Remote OK Open Startup on Friday October 15, 2021 @09:54AM (#28877708)
Not sure how you define great, but as long as you provide a platform for people to find new opportunities and is quite successful for both parties, I'd say it's great and quite an achievement.
Re:My personal site is a terminal on Tuesday October 24, 2017 @06:40AM (#15540620)
I understand what others are saying: there's a lot going on at the same time. Getting rid of the effects while typing would be a major plus.

I've also done something similar, but way simpler: https://rafael.pt

Mine is quite different: http://rafael.pt
Re:Show HN: Page00 – Publishing content anonymously on Tuesday March 29, 2016 @07:33AM (#11380729)
Quite weird to open the website and see social logins. Taking this post title into account, the "anonymous" option should be first.
Re:Elixir and Phoenix – hands-on introduction on Tuesday March 01, 2016 @06:49PM (#11207126)
We started right away from scratch on Elixir. No Erlang before, just Ruby and some other "best tools for the job". It's pretty cool to be able to select whatever technology fits what you want to achieve.
Re:Elixir and Phoenix – hands-on introduction on Tuesday March 01, 2016 @02:12PM (#11205227)
After 2 months using Elixir in a big project for a big company, I must say that I'm really enjoying what's going on. Some libraries are still young, but other than that, the main ones work as expected.
I also have code that I wrote since the very beginning and it's amazing to see how we improved over time.
Looks pretty cool. I often open the website, but since I work mainly from the terminal, this will be useful. Hope to see this project grow.

Offtopic: What's the font in the screenshot?

Pretty cool. I also found this while ago: http://firstpr.me/ – shows your first pull request and contribution to the open source community.
Did the same a few years ago: https://github.com/rafaqueque/responsly

It's always cool to give back to the community :)

Backend engineer at Sherpany (https://sherpany.com) and my side project is called numbers.today (https://numbers.today), a quantified-self platform.

Amazing. Any good options for vim?
Re:Show HN: mq, sub-200 byte DOM manipulation on Monday September 28, 2015 @05:56AM (#10289617)
I don't see the point of using this. Can you please elaborate?
Re:Ask HN: What's your 1-man startup? on Friday September 11, 2015 @06:54AM (#10202990)
I built https://numbers.today. A quantified self platform with an API available for everyone.

In the beginning was very hard; it's your new baby and you need to put a lot of effort, passion and discipline to get things done.

Now I'm struggling because I don't have much time to work on this, but I hope in the next few weeks I'll be able to ship some features that are already built.

Re:Show HN: Mimic – class-fied inline CSS on Tuesday September 08, 2015 @06:12AM (#10184841)
This is getting crazy.
Re:Ask HN: What project are you currently working on? on Wednesday July 15, 2015 @12:44PM (#9892370)
https://numbers.today

A quantified-self platform that allows you to track your daily routine and change your behaviour based on data. There's an API available.

At the moment, trying to push some features and get more traction. Is getting worse and I'm feeling quite lost.

Re:Finish your stuff on Monday July 06, 2015 @08:21AM (#9838544)
That's a very good idea. I'm up for that, remotely.
Re:Show HN: WhatsApp for Desktop on Monday June 22, 2015 @08:26AM (#9757752)
They blame Apple for that. Limitations.
Useful. There are some things that can be improved, like a nice padding around the boxes, which looks weird right now.

PS: Barcelona fan/supporter?

The content is in portuguese (sorry about that). Seems like every ISP in Portugal is now blocking access to uber.com. I can still use the app, but I don't know how long it will last.

What the f is wrong with these guys? This is following a stupid "law" where cab drivers can now charge 20 euros (as soon as you sit inside the cab) to go to city centre. And yes, that's the minimum you'll pay when you arrive in Portugal.

Re:Ask HN: How to integrate coding into primary school? on Wednesday May 20, 2015 @06:12AM (#9575367)
Why there's a need for children to learn coding? This is getting really crazy. Seems like everyone needs to code and everyone is pushing towards that.

I don't see this happening for plumbing, to give you a short example, or any other professional area.

EDIT: I was a coach at a Django Girls event. I support these kind of events, but still, I don't see the reason to really push children to learn coding in their 5 or 6 years old. At that age, they are supposed to play with other children in the backyard, getting dirty. We are losing that. Probably, my generation (1990) was the last having that joy.

Re:How to turn your smartphone into a microscope for 1 cent on Wednesday May 06, 2015 @06:11AM (#9497582)
The URL says 3 cents, the title says 1 cent. Massive drop in the cost. What changed?
Re:Online curl command line builder on Thursday April 23, 2015 @08:54AM (#9426309)
Good idea. It's quite difficult to remember all those parameters and command structure. Thanks, bookmarked.
Re:NASA data API on Tuesday April 21, 2015 @06:54PM (#9417707)
Glad to see this.
Thanks for your explanation. AGPL3 sounds nice. I hope my next question doesn't make this more confusing, but in my roadmap for the next months I have a paid subscription plan. Is this still doable with this license?

I guess I'm just overthinking about this problem instead of focusing in the real deal. I have the product in place, I'm preparing a paid plan for the future and after that, release the source code. Shouldn't be that hard to decide. Damn.

Thanks for your kind explanation. What I really want here is making sure that this code belongs to the community and doesn't end up in any proprietary/closed-source software in the future.
