Re:My Favourite Laptop on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @11:43AM (#50354296)
Trackpoints, Lenovo equips their laptops with at least two kinds: Synaptics, the good one, unfortunatelly the last laptop I had with this was more than 20 years ago, the R40 that still works in my garage. And since that time I have been struggling with Elantech which leaves a lot to be desired. My R40 is really precise while current T14 is really bad. Maybe I'm bad at configuring it, but I gave it a lot of time and the R40 is really way ahead still. What a shame.

I find these Lenovo chicklet keyboards very pleasant. I have t420s which has it and R40 with old style keyboard. Tried to write on R40 recently and was surprised that it's not that big difference. I don't use F keys much so their layout doesn't bother me.

edit: "F keys" part readability

I have been there too. Then I installed cyanogenmod on my Nexus S. It's like night and day. Can't recommend enough. In the future I'm going after phones compatible with it.

Re:My tmux setup on Friday November 15, 2013 @03:21PM (#6741894)
The last tip on naming windows after remote hosts is nice! Now it'd be nice if we could run similar to ssh's LocalCommand on exit too. Turned out that I'm not the first to ask this: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/40899/ssh-localcomma... With workaround too.

The downside is that if go like ssh A then ssh B, display doesn't update. But I don't this too often anyway.

Re:A Tmux Crash Course (2011) on Wednesday August 07, 2013 @07:48AM (#6172129)
I found this http://superuser.com/questions/209437/how-do-i-scroll-in-tmu... (take a look at second answer). But it has its drawbacks like not respecting panes etc... After some time I had this in my config I found myself using copy mode anyway.

Re:What is a music player? on Monday November 12, 2012 @04:01AM (#4772090)
My answer to that question is simply 'mplayer'. I organize my music in folders. I use cd, find and others to navigate. I have never been happy with players with databases - it somehow always gets in the way. I don't like last.fm recommendations, due to the simple fact that I like as diverse music as possible. I discover new music via radio. Mostly wfmu. For me, interesting bit is information about resampling. Thank you for it.

Old newspaper in the boots works for me. You take two or more sheets and wrap your feet in it.
