Re:Ask HN: What are the best ways to find freelance dev gigs? on Tuesday August 13, 2013 @01:36AM (#6204174)
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll make sure not to have anything to do with those two.

Ask HN: What are the best ways to find freelance dev gigs?

I have to pick up some freelance work to supplement my income from my day-job, and I'm wondering what other people use to find work that pays by the hour.I'm asking mostly about development gigs (front-end, back-end, anything). Are there good sites to go to? If so, which ones are good/reputable?

Re:SpahQL - A query language for Javascript objects on Tuesday May 22, 2012 @02:36AM (#4006551)
Nice.

Along these lines, by the way, is my Javascript port of Apple's "key-value coding":

which allows you to traverse object graphs without all the null-check nonsense. Admittedly the purpose is slightly different, but they seem related.

(I submitted this a few days ago but I think I messed up the submission.)This is a site I've been working on recently to help developers avoid the traps and pitfalls that are hiding behind every corner when trying to internationalise a software project:http://i18n.tumblr.comIt's not specifically a technical resource; there are plenty of those out there... it's more designed to change the way...

Check out my i18n/l10n blog. It's not meant to be a highly-technical site; it's more about the pitfalls and traps that normal coders can fall into when trying to develop a site with i18n. I have a gigantic topic list to blog about; these are only the first posts. Comments! Opinions!

Maybe they just forgot to reply. It's hard to remember to do things.
It's a cool idea. A few months ago, I set up

http://www.isthisgameworthwatching.com

for the same kind of reason, although mine is deliberately spoiler-free so you can find out whether or not you waste your time watching a tivo'ed game before you watch. For people who don't care about spoilers (or indeed even the score!), I like your idea a lot.
