Computer science, EE, and coding are three very different things. Make sure you really understand what each one consists of before you decide to pursue it in school.

Ask HN: computational chem/bio

Fellow HN'ers:I'm in university right now, and I'm looking to work with some professors in the computational sciences. I'm wondering if you guys know of any cool intro projects I could hack on before approaching professors. I'm really just looking for suggestions, because I can't think of a good place to start. Thanks!

Re:FratMusic.com searching for tech co-founder on Monday June 28, 2010 @03:43AM (#1467364)
As a university student, I can attest to the popularity of fratmusic.com - it is a resource used my many of my friends from across the country at different universities.

It's recent shutdown caused quit a bit of chatter among all of us and we were sad to see it go. It would be great for it to come back with an even better and more substantial offering.

Ask HN: Okay to post iPhone apps?

I see a lot of people asking for reviews on their web apps. I was wondering if it's okay to ask for reviews/promote an iPhone app/game that you have developed.I just released my second iPhone game and it's picked up a lot of momentum on the app store, so I figure posting it here could help me out a lot. I would like to know if this practice is looked down on by the HN community.

The innovation was in the iPhone. The news apps, book apps, content consumption and games, all MOBILE. The i-pad makes these innovations PRACTICAL with a bigger screen, and that is something worth buying.
