Re:Anthropic's growth just flattened (really) on Monday November 02, 2026 @07:02PM (#50346089)
Everyone trying to vibecode their next million dollar idea only discover the web is dead. Nobody is looking for anything because that would require leaving the safety of the same handful of sites everyone else is on.
Re:A 90% Chance of AI Saving Humanity on Sunday November 01, 2026 @11:08AM (#50326904)
10% chance it will cause human extinction. 11% chance it kills almost everyone. 12% chance it kills slightly less than almost everyone…
Re:Reddit will require an account to access on Friday October 30, 2026 @03:05PM (#50308696)
Blame Google and its AI summaries. Not so easy or practical for the rest of us to put our sites behind a login.
Re:Herdr has released native app on Thursday October 29, 2026 @10:06PM (#50299010)
How does it compare to CMUX?
Re:UUIDv7 doesn't have the properties you think it does on Friday October 23, 2026 @06:22PM (#50216177)
I dislike UUIDv7 for no other reason than I hate any UUID with a dash. Makes navigating/selecting ids a pain with Ctrl/Cmd left/right arrow.
Re:Kimi K3.1 Pro and K3.1 Pro Highspeed on Friday October 23, 2026 @03:10PM (#50213929)
It's too bad Kimi K3.1 Pro cached input is twice the price of Sol 6.1 at 20 cents.
Re:Show HN: An icon for every city in North America on Thursday October 22, 2026 @09:01PM (#50203228)
Remember to set minimum input text size at 16px to avoid iOS zoom in on focus.
I think it's becoming clear that although the media just happily accepts the left-wing bias accusations, they are by no means left-wing. They shouted every random Biden mistake from the rooftops while this administration mostly gets a free pass.
Re:Where Wealth Is Moving in America (2023) on Thursday October 22, 2026 @02:36PM (#50199321)
>This is probably good in some sense - you can argue that it's not healthy for states like CA to "own" so much of GDP end-to-end

So a state invests in educating its residents, only for other states to reap the economic benefits?

Re:"I'm on a War Footing": Terry Tao and the Crisis in Math on Sunday October 18, 2026 @07:43PM (#50146664)
Anyone without a big C in their job title will be on war footing soon enough.
Firefox should just have a 'Chrome' mode where it just shamelessly looks exactly like Chrome. Apart from Chrome removing the flag to hide the close buttons on tabs, I think the UI is damn near perfect.
Re:Why aren't AI companies being charged for hacking? on Monday October 12, 2026 @04:50PM (#50062888)
Let me launch a giant space laser that randomly vaporizes cities. Just a tool, right?
Re:Why aren't AI companies being charged for hacking? on Monday October 12, 2026 @11:27AM (#50057840)
Exactly. There's a reason the tech bros line up to bend the knee to Trump.
Re:Keyboard differences between Windows and Macs on Friday October 09, 2026 @03:54PM (#50025822)
You're probably right!
Re:Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court on Friday October 09, 2026 @03:45PM (#50025716)
It's funny watching these older movies and tv shows where the presidency was portrayed as being dignified and statesmanlike which now seems so laughably unrealistic.
Re:Keyboard differences between Windows and Macs on Friday October 09, 2026 @09:52AM (#50020576)
I’ve done the exact same thing. I remember switching to Mac 20 years ago and the very first time I contorted my hand to use the copy shortcut and thinking…lol nope.

ChatGPT give me some bullet points for my listing
And if the bad things happen, just mosey on down to your private island or doomsday bunker.
Re:A tribute to one of the best games on the Atari 2600 on Monday October 05, 2026 @12:18AM (#49960629)
As a kid I found the gameplay for most Atari 2600 games so shallow I could barely stand to play a game more than a few minutes… except for Combat. Man with two players, that was fun.
Re:Everyone's Packing Up on Friday October 02, 2026 @06:03PM (#49939163)
Yahoo never should have given up their human-curated index, we need it now more than ever.
Democrats will point fingers at Trump but there's no way they roll any of these tariffs back when they regain power, as much as I wish they would.
Re:Ember-1 on Sunday September 27, 2026 @04:38PM (#49870580)
I don’t understand how there isn’t a website out there tracking this stuff already.
Have fun cleaning Cornucopia.
Isn't Siri just a bunch of devs in a room editing conditional statements? They'd have to throw out the ecosystem once they embraced a real AI.
Re:iPhone Duo on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @05:05PM (#49634310)
Don’t forget about how they desperately try to figure out what to do with their hands.
Re:Finder is so frustrating and has been since day one on Sunday September 06, 2026 @06:42PM (#49591669)
To Apple, files are an unsightly thing they need to sweep under the carpet, if you have to interact with files they probably believe they’ve done something wrong.

Look at Apple Mail, they used to bury attachments behind a button and even now they just drop them at the end of the email.

Ugh...this is totally going to happen.

Re:Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @05:33PM (#49528542)
They gave it the same design language as their vacuums, and honestly I don't think they want people making that association. It's kinda ick.
