This is a shame, for me, as I really enjoyed Weird City[0] and was very hopeful of it getting more episodes made.

I think I developed that from too many stand-ups. :v

Correct, he is the brother of Bob Einstein that played Super Dave Osborne.
Like how people used to arrange a taxi \ cab to chauffeur them somewhere? Seems regressive.
From what I can glean of this Verge article [0], it seems two cameras is the maximum possible at this time.

I take no ownership of this but found it an insanely cool free app that shoots a single video with multiple cameras.

Easy to see the connection for this word when learning that the German word for "window" is "Fenster."
Re:Facebook forcing moderators to log every second of day on Thursday January 09, 2020 @12:48PM (#22003527)
Welp. Time to flush the logs.
Scrolled down someone's random page with this extension and the browser tab froze and stopped accepting input (mouse & keyboard). Without any technical explanation I would say this is just removing the overlay and does not accomplish what it states.
Re:2019 on Spotify on Thursday December 05, 2019 @10:21AM (#21713012)
Love these end-of-year recaps because I find the split between podcasts \ music is getting much better recognition in the past few years. 51 days (~74,000min) of total listening this year, wow.
Re:Sherlock: Find usernames across social networks on Sunday December 01, 2019 @10:04AM (#21675768)
Good point. I hadn't realized that this is not all-inclusive of social media, just the top ranking sites.
Re:Sherlock: Find usernames across social networks on Saturday November 30, 2019 @09:23PM (#21673403)
Does not allow for spaces in usernames, only searches for the first word before a space.
Re:Microsoft Comic Chat on Thursday November 14, 2019 @01:20PM (#21537857)
There are some rather clever Discord bots with this capability and I relish in it.
Re:Notepad++ v7.8.1: Free Uyghur on Tuesday October 29, 2019 @10:31AM (#21387552)
I believe the typing content was itself the changelog for that particular release and the flak received by the author will prevent it from happening again in the future afaik.
But it was Chuck Palahniuk that wrote the original story, do they mean the screenplay that also wasn't written by Fincher? [0]https://gointothestory.blcklst.com/script-to-screen-fight-cl...
Re:A little SSH file copy magic at the command line on Thursday October 10, 2019 @11:34AM (#21215716)
Thank you for asking this! I was ignorant of the same process and held the same theory for Windows filetransfers.
Re:Interchangeable parts revolutionised the way things are made on Wednesday October 09, 2019 @01:51PM (#21205832)
I am rather concerned that this failed to leave out Eli Whitney[0], whose contributions for interchangeable gun parts were taught to me in university history class.

> By January 1801, Whitney had failed to produce a single one of the promised weapons, and was called to Washington to justify his use of Treasury funds before a group that included outgoing president John Adams and Jefferson, now the president-elect. As the story goes, Whitney put on a display for the group, assembling muskets before their eyes by choosing (seemingly at random) from a supply of parts he brought with him. The performance earned Whitney widespread renown and renewed federal support. It was later proven, however, that Whitney’s demonstration was a fake, and that he had marked the parts beforehand and they were not exactly interchangeable. Still, Whitney received credit for what Jefferson claimed was the dawn of the machine age. [0]: https://www.history.com/topics/inventions/interchangeable-pa...

A Stallmate, perhaps.
Re:macOS no longer allows changing wifi mac address on Monday October 07, 2019 @01:03PM (#21183195)
You could perhaps claim that perspective (gimp masks) as well, since they typically reduce motor range or flexibility.
Re:Ask HN: What are weird and/or novel ways to do web UIs? on Thursday October 03, 2019 @10:06AM (#21147076)
I've always had an affinity for weird image hotmaps at SuperBad[0].

Re:Windows 95 Made in React/Redux on Wednesday September 25, 2019 @12:50PM (#21072581)
Needs a lot of work from a prototype I've built in the past using HTML + JS.

Some criticism: Start menu doesn't open when clicked. Can't drag + drop icons. No file menus. Menu bar is missing application icon when app is open.

Closing txt window and reopening didn't preserve text. Cannot resize windows.

> The Indian scammers are calling people saying their computers told Microsoft they need help and it works.

My grandmother-in-law was trying to tell me something to this effect last month; that her computer was "acting up" and someone called her "from Microsoft" and she hung up because the sheer coincidence scared her away from the PC.

The company that produces "radar guns" for police to track motor vehicle speeds also produces the "radar detector" for civilians to be wary of police speed traps.
Re:Cassettes Are Back, and It’s Not About the Music on Saturday August 03, 2019 @05:45PM (#20602864)
My friend has an old cassette boom box hooked up in his garage to nice speakers and plays The Cure and old Industrial music from cassette tapes and it honestly feels like the music was written for that specific medium.
I trust Equifax even less to monitor my credit safely than to pay out the money they owe to consumers for their years of deception in business practices.
Re:How Much Water Do You Need to Drink? on Thursday July 25, 2019 @03:53PM (#20528908)
I can confidently admit that when I was a stupid teenager, I had consisted on Soda & Coffee and potentially only getting raw water content absorbed from foods for multiple weeks on end.
This is impressive, but I wonder about the granularity around locales like the Southern United States where sodomy is still considered illegal?
Re:Plex makes piracy just another streaming service on Tuesday July 23, 2019 @02:21PM (#20508941)
I ripped my entire catalog of CDs accumulated throughout the 90s-2000s into digital format and threw that collection into Plex so I can listen to my own personal (paid for!) music library remotely. I also took digital download codes for recent Blu-Ray purchases and stored those in Plex so I can watch lower-quality versions of the movies I paid for.

For all I've heard, KODI was the platform that harbored the most piracy in terms of user base but that is just as baseless of an assumption that this article makes for Plex.

Perhaps from crime reporting aggregation like how heyjackass[0] does it.
