The certificate expiry is Dec 2025 so it's valid.

Yes, I noticed this. Perhaps due to different handling of logins on both the sites. This could be handled in the backend by not redirecting as well, but therd should have been design choices there.

Going past page 1 of SERPs is discouraged or even prevented in recent times, all focus is on "the top result",^2 and some www search engines actively try to block exhaustive research and discovery. By continuing searches over time, e.g., page 1 of results on day 1, page 2 on day 2, page 3 on day 5, etc., one can sometimes avoid being blocked when doing exhaustive searches. > > 1. This is an ongoing experiment. Sometimes a site will "break" if the site operator changes something but this does not happen too often. Majority have remained stable over time. > > 2. This coincidentally benefits an advertising services racket.

How can I get more details about these filters. Are there existing implementations somewhere online which I can test? Seems pretty interesting.

What tools do you use for command line searching?
Yes, since sage 10.4 onwards, native installation on windows is not supported.
Sagemath offers a different purpose which is scientific computing in order to compete with Mathematica and MATLAB. It offered a good interactive notebook interface which went on till about 2016, and later on was migrated to using the jupyter backend. It currently isn't well supported in Windows which is what you might have meant by the complexity. However it works pretty well with linux systems.

Exactly!
You might want to disable web history in google account settings. Its not a worrisome thing though, you're using an account, so syncing those is obvious.

You can use Newpipe (it's open source), and there you may simply subscribe to the channels you want the kid to watch and they'll only watch those channels. There's nothing as home screen there but the kid can still search for a video using a query so it might just be the solution you are looking for.

They give us cure, while they hide our true medicine which is 'ls -1 | xargs cat | grep <search term>'.

The App Store should pitch in and do something for this.

Re:Degoogled Android – My Experience on Wednesday May 22, 2024 @12:10PM (#40442663)
It's still there. Basic, device and strong integrity. Device integrity is what you're referring to and it's still offered by the API but most apps do not use it. And perhaps, they should not.
Re:Degoogled Android – My Experience on Wednesday May 22, 2024 @12:08PM (#40442642)
Yeah, but to open an alternative store, you need to pay a hefty sum. Even to publish apps on that alternate store, there will be high fees. Open source projects simply cannot afford that.

Lineage OS does not have gapps by default. You can install your favourite gapps package and only install the Google apps you need.
I can be wrong on this, but if the screenshots are being uploaded, they can be used to train AI models on how to effectively use the computer and navigate. Copilot will then become better at doing things on autopilot and Microsoft will profit.
Re:Noi: an AI-enhanced, customizable browser on Sunday May 19, 2024 @09:39AM (#40406895)
>Browser: Noi not only includes curated AI websites but also allows the addition of any URL, providing a tailored browsing experience

Wait, that's what a browser is meant for. To add any URL.

In the latest lineage (21), you can directly install microg as lineage os now directly allows signature spoofing (only for microg and related apps).
It's easier now, after flashing the custom rom, go ahead and flash gapps package of your choice (BitGapps or NikGapps) are worth looking into. Even if you choose the most minimal packages, everything is bound to work just like it does in a normal Android.
There is an exact same feature in developer options called Mock location app. Just download an app which does this and enable it there. It works.
You can try mountain duck with any of your clouds
