the real challenge of understanding lamba calculus is realizing its simplicity

it is a sacred idea by the fact that executing it does not really help understand the fact that it is equivalent to any and all computation

royal blood is one of them ideas even worse than the notion of race
plot twist. it is the black hole in the center of the galaxy

so we are inside an object that we can observe looking outwards to the stars

because corporativism has turned many western governments into other for profit corporations but they like to pretend it’s a public entity it’s just that basically nobody has security clearance anymore

we can only hope that he will succeed where old Mr Kellog did not
there’s only and opposing secret court mandating the opposite: publicly available encryption must be weakened on release

software algorithms need to be written once to be used by anyone (digital copies and all that)

systems side doesn’t have this problematic quality

but I. an older hacker (but not so old that I am used to calling my self old, not yet)

are worried and irked by the choice of language: “alien magic”!? really!!??

this hints of the attitude of an user not-interested in inner workings of anythings

language does change and shift but it’s the attitude that worries me

hackers are (were!?) engineers who ask questions about how it works and why and so on…

maybe just get off my lawn!? oh wait, I am a milenial, I cannot afford a lawn to call my own. oopsie

Re:The Connection That Changed Number Theory on Saturday November 04, 2023 @10:22PM (#38147433)
what I am amazed by is how of the primes congruent 1 mod 4 can be factored into complex numbers

but what puzzles me is that 11,13,17,19 are primes just like 101,103,107,109

but the real punchline is that 23 is the next prime after 19 AND 113 is the next prime after 109. WHY!?

this must be connected to 2*5

but I only have questions and confusion
