Re:How to Hire a Winner? Try a Game of Ping Pong on Tuesday May 06, 2014 @07:02PM (#7707678)
Reminds me of Gulliver's Travels where the Emperor of Lilliput appoints court officials by their rope dancing skills.

Re:First full-resolution images of the Martian surface on Wednesday August 08, 2012 @05:14PM (#4358123)
Looks like the image was stitched together from multiple images, judging by the jagged edges at the top and the "fold" to the right of middle in the image. Very neat, nonetheless.
Re:Startup Accelerator Fail: Most Graduates Go Nowhere on Thursday June 21, 2012 @01:32PM (#4143184)
Perhaps a corollary could be that incubators also follow a power law distribution?
Josh, you might want to look at the Tokbox API to get the MVP out: http://www.tokbox.com/opentok/api

Re:Yahoo buys IntoNow for $20-30M on Monday April 25, 2011 @01:10PM (#2482005)
Intonow was spun out of Auditude which developed the audio fingerprinting technology, and Auditude has been around since 2006.
Very cool and a bit creepy at the same time. I'm thinking about Hitchcock's Rear Window. I'm able to see what my office building neighbors are doing (I think...).
Just tried it. Works. Don't know if the photos I'm seeing are from the neighbors in my office building, though.
Re:The worst program I ever worked on on Wednesday March 16, 2011 @01:44PM (#2333010)
Reminds me of my first programming job. One of my colleagues used variables named after baseball players.
Re:Your own company? You can do it on Friday March 04, 2011 @04:05PM (#2289792)
"If a high school drop-out with nothing but a typing diploma could do it, so can you."

I want to believe it, but not necessarily true. We all have different abilities. The author is very talented and has acquired (and/or was born with) the ability to do business.

On the other hand, there is no way of really knowing, unless you try.

Re:Poll: How old were you when you started programming? on Wednesday December 29, 2010 @02:49PM (#2049926)
Age 12, BASIC on the Apple II at school. I learned from some books that had cartoon robots in them. Anyone remember these?
Re:RIM thought iPhone was impossible in 2007 on Monday December 27, 2010 @05:31PM (#2043863)
Good article ... looks like the author predicted something like the IPad.
