ppnpm

I maintain a SPEC_SHEET.md file while asking the agent to keep teaching me the detail of the changes made or feature built after every iteration. This gives me a small handbook after I finish the project. I keep reading it like a book and learn how things are working inside the codebase and sometimes when required, I follow the code side by side while reading the spec-sheet.

Napkin is a simple scratchpad to hold text and images to copy later or until you don't need them anymore, or when you don't want to organize temporary files.

Clipboard does a similar kind of job, but it is essentially meant for copy and paste, it is volatile. Normally, you can't access the image or text you copied 10 days ago on clipboard. And that's fine—that's what clipboards are meant for.

Napkin lets you create napkins on which you can add or paste pieces of text, URLs, and images. You can edit the text, insert images from your desktop, and copy any item at any time for further use somewhere else. Keep the app running in background, and reuse the items you pasted.

Nothing is organized. You don't have to give anything a title or add tags. This is where all your mess gets dumped until you decide it's no longer useful and delete it. Just like a scratchpad!

Deleted napkins go into the trash and are kept there for N days (30 by default), which you can change in the settings.

Napkins older than X days (30 by default) will be flagged for deletion. You can change this period in the settings as well.

You can also empty the trash, after which the files will be permanently deleted from your desktop.

AI disclosure: This is a vibe-coded project. I spent most of my time testing it on Linux. Windows testing wasn't done properly, although it did run on Windows with some issues. If you try it, please test it on your system as well, and if you find any problems, feel free to submit an issue.

Some notes you may need to know: - Linux builds are tested on Arch/KDE/Wayland. Windows builds and passes the full suite in CI, I ran older versions on real hardware and they worked. It is an unsigned build, so SmartScreen will warn you.

- There is no global capture hotkey yet, which is the thing I most want. It needs the XDG GlobalShortcuts portal, and the session handshake. I cannot develop it headless.

- There is no at-rest encryption. A scratch surface ends up holding tokens and passwords. The data directory is 0700 and excluded from desktop search, but that is retention, not encryption.

So a toolbox attached with a keyboard that has opposite layout, some new shortcuts and an OS that can be reproduced easily. So what's the point? One can go for design and hardware but is this really something that stands it out in 2026? I was wondering what I would put in the toolbox, maybe earphones, mobile stand, stationary?
I worked on the same principle but it's an extension. Here's the website I made. You just need to press the extension when you're reading any bloated article.

I am building Segue: an infinite canvas and keyboard-first mind maps application for windows desktops. I am trying to keep it minimal and only necessary features like text node, sticky note, ink tool and images. Later I shall add more productive feature and less unnecessary tools and features.

It has completely local environment and has no servers. Your files saved as SQLite database files per board. This means you have nothing to set up. No account, no sign-in, no sync settings. Just open it and work. You can use git or Onedrive to sync your SQLite files.

The code is open-source on GitHub with MIT license. I am using claude to build it in C#, Skiasharp for canvas and WPF UI.

If you are interested to take a look, please check it here : https://github.com/ppnpm/segue

Thanks, Ankit

You should reduce unnecessary animations on text and card, I have a habit of selecting text while reading and hovering on the divs.

I am building a language, parser, and a simple editor to write this language. It is a simple shorthand, command- and token-based domain-specific language that may help doctors and clinicians write structured clinical case notes and histories faster. It will convert these short notes into SOAP notes (currently available), and later into Markdown, JSON, and PDF.I do not intend to make it a clinical...

This made me create a simple reading website for myself that blunts all the models, adverts and newsletter/subscription popups.

https://readwd.vercel.app

I also built an extension to redirect the article to this website, so that before these actions annoy me, I could read the article in peace.

I am working on a web app that let's you add various types of cards and edit them accordingly and are arranged in a bento UI pattern.

I have a few functional cards for now, note, social media, article, quote.
