That's why I like small, open source projects like this one. I don't have to figure out if it's malicious. I just fork it, then ask claude to review the code, then run my own fork.

Yes. Thank you. This is such a simple thing that should be a part of the operating system, and in the ideal world it would be. This is the perfect problem for the LLM to solve, because the reason it does't exist in the system is a decision by some stupid PM at Apple, and not an actual system constraint.

Unless "some nerds" means "billionaires" - they may want to release new models as open source, but they will not have enough money to train a worthwhile model.

A $200 Claude Code subscription gives you far more usage than $200 would buy at API rates.
It's not just "here is $200 worth of tokens that you can use".

"Mostly Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code, with one human steering by prompts. "
I find it funny that I would happily use a version of this if I created it (with Claude), but somehow cannot get myself to use it since it's been prompted by someone else. I wonder what's that about.

Funny. Reminds me of programmers who like to program, and programmers who like programming because it lets them build things. The first group hates AI, the second loves it.

If you find that concerning, I recommend asking Claude or Codex to analyze all your HN comments and build a profile of you (I recommend that to everyone, not trying to single you out btw.) It takes about 20 minutes. It was eye opening and somewhat unsettling how accurate it was when I ran it on my own data. Even worse, there’s NO way to delete your old HN comments.

I've used Hanami in exactly one production codebase (but it was a huge one). I fully expect to hear the chorus of "skill issue" TM type of comments and honestly, I won't even argue with that. But that app was hands down one of the messiest, most overengineered pile of hot garbage I've ever laid eyes on, and I can't shake the feeling that at least SOME of the blame lands on the framework itself, for nudging you toward a design where you drown in an explosion of tiny classes that do nothing but hide the actual behaviour from you.

Looks like a marxist revolution is soon going to be on the mind of a lot of programmers. We've finally reached the point where the "means of production" in software are back in the hands of the bourgeoisie.
It was good while it lasted. But now that only the wealthy can afford access to the best models, software development is starting to look like most other industries, no longer a place where some dude from nowhere can build something cool from his basement because he will be competing with huge companies with unlimited access to those models.
