If it's not already, Godot looks as if it will mature into the "Blender" of the game development industry. I use a proprietary engine at the moment because of it's kindergarten level ease-of-use, but I'm gravitating towards Godot with every single release. Once my license expires I'll probably make the jump.
"I feel blogging is making a comeback, why? Because people are starting to realize that they can carve their own brand and be content creators, rather than just sharing your thoughts among few Facebook friends."
This was always the understanding pre-FaceF*ck and pre-Social Media.
The easiest blog setup is to use: Publii as the CMS and Netlify as the Host. It doesn't get any easier than that.
Ungoogled Chromium + uBlock Origin = ZFG
I hear you and I follow the same pattern of avoidance. Google and everything they stand for is old news. Break 'em up!
What does this have to do with tech hacking?
Well deserved and might I say, "it's about time".
Break 'em up!
I had a 3 year account containing videos of my game completely wiped without any notification. The account was terminated. I appealed and the bot effectively said "F you".
I have nearly deleted all Google services and my YouTube viewership is dwindling every month. I use one of the Invidious sites when I do watch YouTube sourced content.
I despise Google/YouTube with a passion.
It's irrelevant to me whether or not it's an electron app. I'm not running a Pentium 486 system. I've got more RAM than I know what to do with...I'll run a half-dozen instances of Thorium if I wanted to...no worries.
Big mistake. The position of the USG is National security. The discovery process is going to be ruthless.
No code, or low-code, are terms straight out of marketing departments by this generation's ignorance of software history.
The earliest form of this trend that I can remember was Macromedia Authorware. Drag-n-drop flowchart style of development with optional coding features.
Gives a new meaning to the unbundling of eBay

bada-bing!
All vices experience an uptick in usage during social upheaval. You can add gambling, illicit drug use, gluttony, and all the others.
Chrome extension developers should start hosting them on Github.
I use a flavor of Chrome called Ungoogled Chrome (https://ungoogled-software.github.io/) and the only way to install plugins is to manually install the CRX file.
I wore my copy out actually. That book single handily was responsible for my brief infatuated phase for wearing polos and no-sock penny-loafers while sporting a locust valley lockjaw. I'm laughing about it as I write this...
> The Official Preppy Handbook
LOL, classic WASP literature. I haven't thought of this book since the mid-80s! It's a hilarious read.
Buildbox for game development.
Have they confessed how they are specifically linking the hysteria with the shutdown of the company?
All of your speculations seem entirely rational to me. Good analysis.
I'm aware of Plato's cave, however, I don't get your reference to him being initiated. Could you go a bit deeper?
Interesting. How are you deploying the server side environment?
Publii. It's developed by a European (France, I think) team. It syncs to Netlify with a single mouse-click.
Wouldn't do it any other way.
I dipped out of web dev in 2015 to run an ecommerce project. I stopped tracking all the latest js framework news. I settled on a barebones CSS rule set. I stopped choosing SPAs as the starting point for mvp ideas. I shelved Wordpress and moved some content sites over to Netlify and just recently started using a nifty desktop ssr cms instead of Hugo, Gatsby, etc.
I was regressing to the environment I understood in the early 2000s-2010s. I did all of this because I knew there would be a steep learning curve going into modern ecommerce and it seemed reasonable to put everything into hibernation while I attempted to go all-in.
I pretty much missed the entire React, Angular, Vue ramp up in the industry.
I've since shut down that ecommerce project and find myself peeking back to the js-verse every now and then.
I doubt I'll ever voluntarily use one of those frameworks for web dev.
I do, however, like this thing called, Svelte.
He would do Steve Jobs proud...the asshole of our generation
