My new daily puzzle idea!

It has been difficult creating puzzles at the right difficulty level but I would love to hear what you think?

Show HN: 18 Words, Zanagrams and Sunflowers Are Now PZL Games

A few months ago I shared 18 Words, Zanagrams and Sunflowers here, which loads of you ended up playing and sending really useful feedback.I’ve now brought all three together into PZL games along with three new daily games.Just wanted to say thanks to everyone here who played, commented and helped improve them. HN has been a big part of getting these games off the ground. I'v now had over 1...

Thanks!

It should clear already which device and browser are you on?

And you mean after you enter a word the word remains in the input as well?

Thanks! Honestly quite random right now haha. I try a few different combinations until I find one that feels like a nice puzzle

Thanks for the feedback would love to talk more with someone that plays a lot of minesweeper if you have the time?

Sunflowers still only ever has one valid solution across all difficulty levels, but would like to understand more why that is not clear to a veteran player

There is one hidden away in the settings menu if you tap the sunflower top left! Will make it more clear it exists
Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Monday July 27, 2026 @03:05AM (#49066034)
Could you let me know which device please and i will fix
Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Sunday July 26, 2026 @05:23PM (#49062553)
Great thanks for sending these
Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Sunday July 26, 2026 @05:22PM (#49062546)
Yes this was possible in minesweeper but something I tried to eliminate in sunflowers. You never have to guess even at the hardest difficulty levels
Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Sunday July 26, 2026 @05:22PM (#49062539)
Helpful feedback thanks.

But yes there is always a logical next step to be made that can be fully reasoned out. The hint (lightbulb) icon will show you this step when you are stuck.

Disclaimer the hint system is definitely not perfect yet but should at least point you in the right direction.

Please do send a screenshot if you find yourself stuck again it would be useful for me to improve the deisng

And if you find a puzzle you like the difficulty of could you tell me the puzzle id at the top left please
Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Sunday July 26, 2026 @11:47AM (#49059330)
I've just tried to bump insane up a bit if you could test it to let me know what you think?

I'm struggling to play test the higher difficulties because it above my own skill level haha

Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Sunday July 26, 2026 @11:32AM (#49059166)
Yeah it's maybe not the best way to describe it, but my intention is all clues already visible at the start rather than exploration, and adding in flowers rather than avoiding mines.

The main difference is having all the clues visible at the start changes it to a search and deduction logic style rather than reveal and react

Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Sunday July 26, 2026 @11:28AM (#49059114)
Helpful feedback thanks. I am trying to make it a bit more forgiving for first time players to learn the logic.

Then in easy mode and above you are given max 3 mistakes similar to sudoku.com and other popular logic puzzles

Thanks! Not perfect yet but I think it has potential. Would love any feedback

Re:Show HN: Sunflowers on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @08:16AM (#49005550)
Hmm thanks can you let me know your device and browser please
Re:Show HN: Sunflowers on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @07:54AM (#49005297)
When you finish the puzzle it should be a modal with some stats for the puzzle and button to play a new one
Re:Show HN: Sunflowers on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @07:52AM (#49005273)
Helpful feedback thank you.

An empty dialog is a strange bug. Which puzzle difficulty are you playing?

Re:Show HN: Sunflowers on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @07:12AM (#49004884)
I've been wanting to make this game for a long time but always struggled to make a good generator for it.

Well now with the help of fable I have managed to get a decent version complete!

Hope you like it and would love to hear feedback! I've already clocked in over 20 hours myself which is always a good sign
