you can't compare some web forum to a paper that pretends to deal in actual news. Defend free speech above all or it is a slippery slope. and this is country sliding down that slope as we speak.

If people here give up on free speech, all is lost. This and other groups are just a symptom. The reason these groups flourish is because the legacy media (aka MSM) has lost all trust. Should you also ban NYT for the Russian interference conspiracy theory? If the legacy media deal in conspiracy, you should expect a reaction on the periphery of the political spectrum.

Dark ages are upon us and NYT leads the way. This is the most significant blog in the last decade plus. NYT should be canceled before they cancel every shred of independent thinking in the country.

Ask HN: Does it matter to give IRS your bank routing info?
When you get the Covid checks, you have an option to give IRS your routing numbers. Is there any concern with this?

I don't know where to ask this. Can a Corona test detect antibodies after you are cured? If negative, how can you know that you are immune after being cured or not even seeing the symptoms?

One would think that with it's communist history Germany would be on the side of the Western Values. In addition Globalism hollowed out the western know-how,via cut and paste to China. Germany stands to lose from it the most with precision manufacturing being transferred to China. Markel is picking the wrong friends.
Re:Statistical Life Expectancy of a Roman Emperor
on Monday December 23, 2019 @09:44AM (#21863869)
1st rear of rule death is most likely, if the 1st year is survived the danger gradually diminished to the 7th year. The safest years for an emperor are from 8th to 12th years of rule. After the 12th year the danger is increasing again. World politics in nutshell! In the study they compare Emperor's survival to a mechanical failure. I.e a car components are most likely to fail on it's first year. If first year is "survived" a car is "stable" till it's worn out on the 12th.
It is intuitive that chances of getting whacked are the highest on the 1st year. What is interesting are the other two markers 8th year the safest, 12th year is when the danger goes up again.

This is way beyond air, this is water we drink, the chemicals in processed food, the pesticides in the produce. The compounds in furniture, paints, stains, carpeting, general building materials including insulation, plastic plumbing,HVAC components, insistence on living in un-ventilated, year around closed windows spaces.
