"Any good books or screencasts or anything to get my feet wet on become a web developer? I like udacity but it costs money and don't have money for it."
Did you read what the OP asked for? Even though OP said he does not have the money to pay for web training, you still went ahead to suggest this paying site to him.Too bad.

Really,I cant make head or tail on what you saying here. You are just dithering. To me,I will warn developers about your company. We need to start speaking out about disrespectful potential employers. There are quite a lot of tech companies that are treating potential employee badly.Asking candidates to do many hours of take-home code interview and simply ignore them thereafter;passive-aggressively interview candidates; And your comments here are not helpful.
Ask HN: How to turn down a job interview
I applied to 5 companies about 6-7 weeks ago.I got an interview in all but one.To cut the story short,I got offers from all of the four companies.I am thinking to myself which to pick among them. Now,today the last company emailed me for an interview(after 7 weeks or so).I am not interested in the company anymore. How do i decline the interview in a decent way?.

Most open source project teams are decent except Mozilla, which is vindictive at best.

Agree 100%. It is shameful the way they treated the man.I wont encourage anyone to participate in open source work in Mozilla.

There is no such thing as "incumbent advantages" for market this is based on technology that could be duplicated. The same is applicable to payment system that paypal, stripe and others take on now.Same with car industry that Telsa is working on.Did you read the linked article about MONEY.NET.The thing is that developers have not been paying much attention to nuts and bolts of these terminals, until lately.http://fortune.com/2014/03/20/can-the-bloomberg-terminal-be-...

Bloomberg terminal and Thomson Reuters are certainly ripe for strong competitors. They are basically operated as monopoly for decades.Yc,developers and others should take on this challenge.
