As far as I can remember, that was the proof of concept which ended up emerging for the 5C crack a few years ago, and I don’t see any reason the methods would’ve changed.

1) JavaScript allows for arbitrary code execution

2) Apple’s App Store policies disallow the user from executing arbitrary code

I think you can figure this out yourself.

I admittedly skimmed through, but it seems to be more systems theory, as applied to computer science, than a new form of computer science in and of itself.

That’s absolutely terrible. Does Apple not monitor those forums at all?

I don’t think you’re speaking about “The Church” in the sense of the Roman Catholic Church. Lots of televangelists and other protestants sure, but The Catholic Church has never strongly pushed monetisation, and tends to have the lowest reimbursement rates for priests.
>Compared with the standard lavatories, Smart-Lav brings 5.5 additional inches for more seats and 10 additional inches for recline space.

Yet they claim it "allows up to 6 additional seats in the cabin". Assuming they're in a row, I fail to see how you can fit a seat in 5.5 inches.

>The interior of Smart-Lav has been designed to enhance the spaciousness and the hygiene perception by the passengers.

It's blatantly focusing on perceptions over reality. I got sick in a plane with a similar layout(I think it was with Emirates) and I remember it being significantly more uncomfortable than any other plane I'd been on, and I think I managed to hit my head while throwing up.

Re:Michigan's most dangerous book (2012) on Sunday November 05, 2017 @09:56PM (#15633203)
I felt like making a point that there were some valid reasons to vote for Trump. And I decided to point to the recently exposed handing over of funds during the primaries as an example of such a reason.

> This victory fund agreement, however, had been signed in August 2015, just four months after Hillary announced her candidacy and nearly a year before she officially had the nomination.

> I had gone department by department, investigating individual conduct for evidence of skewed decisions, and I was happy to see that I had found none. Then I found this agreement.

> The funding arrangement with HFA and the victory fund agreement was not illegal, but it sure looked unethical. If the fight had been fair, one campaign would not have control of the party before the voters had decided which one they wanted to lead. This was not a criminal act, but as I saw it, it compromised the party’s integrity.

Oh yes, it's the arsenic wallpapers which made people grow tired of a party which handed over campaign funds during the primaries choosing their president.

I’m not sure what gp was talking about. The TouchID sensor also doubles as a physical power button(or a sleep if pressed briefly). It is a physical button too, not like the iPhone ⅞ buttons.

The attempts at photorealism brings them barely into the uncanny valley, but overdone HDR pulls them firmly into the bottom of the valley. To think they look bad, you have to be the sort of person who didn't like Tarkin's CGI in Rogue One.

But if someone shows up wearing a black coat and jackboots because they think they look cool(or posting pepe memes because they think the images are funny), can you brand them as racist and kick them out?
On the note of the internet as a whole displaying this, there was a study a while ago which found "searching the Internet for explanatory knowledge creates an illusion whereby people mistake access to information for their own personal understanding of the information."

Re:Choosing between names and identifiers in URLs on Wednesday October 18, 2017 @01:58AM (#15497181)
If you were new to modern macOS(and iOS with the Files app) you might end up with something similar. Applications dump things in the main Documents folder(with user chosen names, but those are necessary metadata). You can then tag items with various labels(essentially adding more metadata), and everything is searchable through spotlight of the search function of our file manager using the user-given name, tags, and metadata(documents edited today, Pages files).

Photos and videos are managed entirely in the photos app, and organised almost exactly according to your suggested categories(literally called memories (for events), places, people). iTunes handles audio files automatically(you can sync your own files into apple music, where they're categorised in the same way as any other music).

As I understand it, APFS also handles copying and modifying in a similar way to your description, where a copy of a file is treated as a mutation of the previous version.

Everything is even synced through iCloud to all your devices, with all macOS devices keeping a rather complete copy, unless they run out of disk space.

This would require someone to have their first experience of computing in the modern Apple ecosystem(literally iOS 11 and up) to avoid preconceptions about filesystems, since traditional folders are still supported, but it's possible.

Re:DIY recipes to make your own expensive pharma drugs on Saturday October 14, 2017 @12:57AM (#15470851)
That's true for the massive difference I was trying to show. Let's try to fix the stats, this shows somewhat smaller differences.

The US has 192 rural inhabitants per thousand, as opposed to 176 for Australia.[1] Australia seems significantly more urbanised if anything. According to your logic, we should expect to see more hate crimes. That's not what happens though.

Wikipedia's list of ethnic riots has 134 entries for the US(since 1857, as that's the first Australian entry(there's more US entries in the dedicated article)), and 8 for Australia. That's 0.41 per million in the US, against 0.33 per million in Australia. The modern population should be fine as an approximation.

I'm going to insert mass shootings, because it's always fun to point this out. Wikipedia has 181 shootings worthy of articles[3], or 0.56 per million. Australia has 13[4], or 0.54 per million. As you've pointed out, Australia has a lower population, so this probably means that smaller shootings are worthy of articles. Removing shootings with less than 5 victims(which wouldn't have an article if they were American) gives us 7, or 0.30 per million.

Going back to homosexuals, the US has 148 items in Wikipedia's "History of violence against LGBT people in the United States"[5], or 0.47 per million. Australia has 13 entries(and no dedicated page)[6], or 0.54 per million. I'd almost surrender that point, if Australia didn't have 100% less cults walking around shouting that god hates fags, and 100%(or 6) less mass shootings of homosexuals.

Admittedly, I truncated all my numbers because I'm lazy. Sorry.
