Is that not what is happening here?
Not surprising when Sam keeps on talking about how his AI is going to take your job and Dario counters by saying his AI is going to kill you.
Re:Anthropic's Public Benefit Charter on Thursday October 22, 2026 @01:36AM (#50191569)
I am a materialist and I believe it is possible to create artificial consciousness. I just don't think a stack of GPUs is it and the burden of proof is on the party making the claim.
Re:OpenAI models are coming to Google Cloud on Thursday October 22, 2026 @01:33AM (#50191553)
OpenRouter doesn't see the encrypted reasoning traces.
Re:Anthropic's Public Benefit Charter on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @07:06PM (#50188904)
If LLMs are conscious (they aren't) then Anthropic isn't putting its money where its mouth is, unless it somehow thinks the enslavement and torture of conscious beings on a massive scale is also in line with its values.
Re:Anthropic's Public Benefit Charter on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @04:02PM (#50186817)
It's really just the constant fear mongering against open models, the overly messianic tone of their marketing, and the endless hinting that "Claude" is a conscious being fully deserving of the same rights as a human.
Re:Tsrs: A Port of TypeScript to Rust on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @01:27PM (#50169751)
I just vibecofed tsasm. tsrs is obsolete now and anyone who still uses it is hopelessly behind the times. The tsrs team should delete the repository immediately and join my project.
You can just host the inference locally... Baseten and Fireworks already do that for you.
Is anyone actually oneshotting a whole app or even vibecoding one in multiple steps without it being "guided work"? I really wish announcements (like DeepSeek's recent one) would stop focusing on the ability of the model to spit out Minecraft clones on demand.

Corporations pay API rates. Subscriptions are only available to individuals.
Re:Anthropic thinks its AI might be conscious on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:16AM (#50114760)
Please explain. Suleyman seems like the only sane executive in these conversations about AI "consciousness".
Re:Anthropic thinks its AI might be conscious on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:15AM (#50114751)
Yawn. They've been not-so-subtly hinting at this at every possible opportunity for the past year.
Boring.
I thought they "went away" after the Yandex data centers were hit.
I doubt the NSFW-focused ones have taken on venture funding. They're probably leaner shops with a dramatically smaller userbase that is more likely to actually pay.
Re:Meta and Microsoft Limit Employee Use of Claude AI Tools on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @04:26PM (#49998338)
Corporations pay API rates.
Upvoted for sheer insanity. (Multiple inheritance in 2026 is certainly a choice.) This is not the direction I would have expected the Scala/Kotlin/TypeScript of Go to have gone, but I guess that's why the Go++ naming is very appropriate.
Re:Extra Big Ass Intelligence on Sunday October 04, 2026 @07:03PM (#49958858)
You don't read if you think nobody used em dashes frequently before LLMs went mainstream.
Re:Pi 1.0 on Thursday October 01, 2026 @04:37PM (#49926788)
The thing I don't like about minimal plugin-based harnesses is that I don't always have the time to figure out which plugins and safe and sensible, and at least one of those is false more often than not when it comes to AI tools. Sorting by popular does not solve the problem.
Re:GLM-5.3 and the spread of advanced cyber capabilities on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @06:42PM (#49901825)
Cut from the same "rationalist" cloth.
Re:GLM-5.3 and the spread of advanced cyber capabilities on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @06:37PM (#49901749)
GLM 5.2 was used by Hugging Face for defense when they were being hacked by OpenAI because the guardrails on closed models meant they refused to help.
There are very practical reasons to not hire someone who abruptly dips after less than a year on the job that have nothing to do with being punitive.
Re:Sonnet 5.5 on Monday September 28, 2026 @03:17PM (#49883030)
The contrast between Anthropic, who seem to be training their models to output ever-increasing numbers of reasoning tokens, and Fireworks's Ember-1, which was explicitly trained to preserve the quality of a model's responses while cutting down on reasoning, is interesting. Claude Code also uses more many tokens per task per model than any other harness in benchmarks.
Re:Sonnet 5.5 trumps Fable 5.1 on Artificial Analysis on Monday September 28, 2026 @03:11PM (#49882953)
This says more about Artificial Analysis than either model.
> However I imagine those that are upset about CEO pay will find this unconvincing. Is there any other way to interpret this?

Judging by your recent comments, you seem to have an axe to grind with people who are "upset about CEO pay" and I don't think it's possible to convince you to look any things from any other angle.

A CEO abruptly resigning is read by the market as a signal. Unless you think this person is ~$6.5B more valuable than any potential replacement, the full quantity of the loss cannot be ascribed to the value he provides as an employee.

A gift to the frontier lab marketing departments before their IPOs.
Re:GPT-6 Sol and Luna on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @06:45PM (#49809329)
Your entire comment history really is just this, huh.
Re:GPT-6 Sol and Luna on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @06:25PM (#49809107)
Your entire recent comeback history is defenses of Anthropic. Do you work for them?
Re:GPT-6 Sol and Luna on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @05:58PM (#49808746)
OpenAI and Anthropic are neck and neck: https://www.felonybench.com/
