Buying a laptop for College/general purpose

Hello, I’m looking to buy myself a laptop for the next semester. The most important features it should have are: good and big display (preferably OLED), good keyboard and a dedicated GPU. I’m not looking for a budget option but the price should be reasonable. What are your thoughts?

Learning Delphi

Hi, I’m a third-year CS student and I received a proposition from the company I applied to — they offered me to learn Delphi and complete a project for them as a requirement (though I’m not sure what exactly yet) for my summer internship. Do you know any good (free) courses or books that introduce the language? I’m most interested in project-based courses, but I doubt something like that exists...

BSc Thesis idea-messaging app, stack/tools selection help

Hello, I'm a third-year student about to choose my thesis topic. I was thinking about developing a messaging app, but I'm not sure if I'm fully aware of the challenges and tools that could help me create it.At first, I planned to use C# with ASP.NET Core MVC and SignalR (since I know C# very well) for the messaging system, along with a Blazor or React frontend.I also considered using Angular...

Thanks, I've done it with jquery and ajax get request but it feels so outdated, especially when operating on such big abstraction layer that ASP.NET MVC is
Thanks, I know that, I've been learning pure CSS and Bootstrap in the meantime and took whole Odin Project course.

I just wanna get info about the current tools and standards of making things in a more modern approach.

Solid back end language to learn

Hello,I'm a CS student and on courses and in my free time (constantly) I'm learning JS and (a bit less lately) C#. Looking at the job offers near me, it seems that PHP is the piece in the stack that I lack if they don't require C#. I don't know if this is just my local area or PHP is (and still will be) very important language.I was thinking about learning another backend language and I can't...

How to start learning Java with some programming background?

Hello,I want to start learning Java in order to read some algorithm and clean code books and maybe getting deeper later with it as a backend language. My question is that, what are the sources (books, courses) to learn Java for somebody who already knows what simple data structures, all kinds of loops and OOP is and won't have to spend time re-reading it all over again.

Design Patterns Learning Sources

I've been thinking about learning DP on my own before my uni course about them but I don't know what's the best source for that. Some famous books about them are either in Java which I don't know or theoretical which I've heard that many don't understand. What do you think it's the best way to learn them? I would prefer either book or some online course (free) in C# but if that's not possible I...

Thank you for the reply, after rethinking my post I understood that the question is very imprecise but after some insight from here and another post I've been shown,I think I will start Fundamentals of Web Development 3rd Edition and decide what to do after reading that (and gaining more insight about web dev hopefully)

Currently I'm reading Python's crash course along with CLRS,planning to start reading that book after those.

Gonna need all the MOOPs I've seen here too for sure!
