“A universal influenza vaccine would be a major public health achievement and could eliminate the need for both annual development of seasonal influenza vaccines, as well as the need for patients to get a flu shot each year,”

So, one shot and no more flu? ever?

How is Microsoft more of a monopoly than Google?
Tim Ferriss once said there is no biological free lunch, and that really stuck with me. Anytime you see miracle in a health food/drug know your body will be paying for it one way or another
Re:Tesla’s Price Cuts Are Roiling the Car Market on Sunday January 22, 2023 @09:55PM (#34484918)
Weird tests here, I bought a Tesla model y long range last year and can confirm a single charge gets >300 miles in real world driving conditions, not sure where their numbers came from.
Were there any studies on incorporating initial search to the young internet prior to deploying that to millions of people? Google started in a similar way. Worst case you get bad search results which is where Bing is already.
Re:Devirtualizing Nike.com's Bot Protection (Part 1) on Saturday January 07, 2023 @10:39AM (#34288992)
People desire the shoes due to the scarcity. Producing more supply would lead to a commodity and less popular shoe/brand over time. No one talks about shaq shoes from Walmart because they are using the model you are suggesting

How would the compression change for OLED vs standard LCD etc? I guess it could be generally bad but only noticeable on a OLED?
Get a lawyer. Their advice will probably be settle.
Re:Apple doesn't care about album cover art on Wednesday March 31, 2021 @03:21PM (#26651787)
Yeah, looks like a device specific issue wrapped with a preference on margin around the artwork. Apple could shut this guy up by expanding the album art full screen when tapped in the player view.
Re:Amazon buys 11 Boeing 767s to expand its cargo fleet on Wednesday January 06, 2021 @05:59AM (#25656556)
likely because the 767 size & range is larger.
Re:YouTube-dl's repository has been restored on Monday November 16, 2020 @10:59AM (#25113209)
By this right, Zoom/ Google Meet / Teams have screen recording that would allow for this as well. How deep should we go down this hypothetical rabbithole?
What would be the incentive for this? There is still a heavy demand for cars 30k+, why would they stop doing that for a cheaper car when they are selling every car they are producing at a higher profit? This is currently an issue of manufacturing capacity, accompanied by a demand curve the 3 set in place.
By imposing a draconian lock down on all citizens (even those who havent tested positive)? I guess...
And an astounding amount of educational debt, with boundaries on where you can practice.

Wood tastes better
Sweeping generalities don't work.
Not to mention not having some nuclear waste to store for the rest of the foreseeable future.

No USB-C? also, what's the point of including the Thunderbolt 2 ports, I thought Thunderbolt 3 was backwards compatible. Sweet design other than that.
Never?
We'd dump your tea out in the harbor again.

182 Million to (re)build a site created in 2014?
Re:The Sugar Conspiracy on Thursday April 07, 2016 @01:58PM (#11449205)
Maintaining a reduced calorie diet seems to be the issue, most people cannot do this.
Re:$10/bbl Oil Tax on Friday February 05, 2016 @02:38PM (#11044012)
I read somewhere recently (likely reddit) that this could likely be an election year strategy to vilify the opposing party, as Congress will likely shut this down.

That ties them, and the party to support of non-renewable energy sources, which are not exactly popular among voters(there might have been a specific demographic attached to that, but I'm not certain).

Even if this turns out to be the strategy, I think your idea about a commitment to US jobs would only help- not sure why he didn't do that..

But tesla would still be the manufacturer? How would a dealership benefit in any way? If there were others that didn't use the silly dealership model, you could go to them and buy an electric car on the internet. But tesla is first to market with an electric car at this scale, sure it can be seen as bad press to decline a pre-order, but introducing additional hands in the mix in no way would fix this situation. The problem lies with a lack of competition on this one- If tesla had any real competition, and supply constrains, do you honestly think a pre-order would be canceled?

You wouldn't consider India or many parts of Africa a growth market?
Re:Big Company vs. Startup Work and Compensation on Friday December 18, 2015 @01:36PM (#10760044)
Is this true? if so, how can sites like angel.co exist? I believe I can invest in most of the startups right now on there..
Re:Angular 2 Beta released on Tuesday December 15, 2015 @03:20PM (#10740191)
No, NativeScript is a Telerik product. Angular is a Google/ Open Source project. I'm not sure how they are related, I haven't seen anyone use the two in conjunction.
Yeah, except many (most in my area) healthcare providers do not have fixed rates for service, and prices that are offered are often just estimates, with no real recourse if the estimate is off by a wide margin.

My wife had elective surgery- I had a high deductible plan at the time with an HSA account. When we asked what the total cost would be, the quote was ~$1100. The total bills that came to us were well over three times that. There is no real recourse for this, we wrote letters, called governing agencies in our area and were nearly sent to collections before I just paid for it.

Free market capitalism is far from what we have in almost every service-based industry in my experience, and companies fight tooth and nail to ensure it stays that way.
