I have a log but sorry, can't find an email address in the app or on your site. How can I send it to you?
Looks useful and I like the UI, it reminds me of UniFi. After a few minutes I had to force-quit and sent a report. I will buy it, I love messing about and have a reasonably complex home network and have been getting by with a mix of Unix and homemade tools; this is nicer.
this can be fixed by

xattr -c `which whosthere`

Re:Show HN: A large format XY scanning hyperspectral camera on Friday October 17, 2025 @10:34AM (#45617264)
The scan rate really limits the usability of this. Do you have any leads on planar sensors?

Indium tin oxide.
This is awesome! I currently run FreshRSS on a pi5 and this looks like a nice, non-PHP alternative.

I've had good luck with the Lunar app - it manages my Dell and LG monitors on an M2. (No affiliation) https://lunar.fyi
This. At _least_ temp control the fans.
Re:Is there an updated list for verified good USB-C cables? on Sunday November 26, 2023 @12:40PM (#38423369)
Having paid for and enjoyed Narwhal and Apollo, I really hated the official app. After some digging, I found https://github.com/lo-cafe/winston and that's working for me. It's not simple - you have to generate your own Reddit app id and secret, be able to Xcode from source and have a valid Apple ID to install the IPA, but it's worth it to me to spite the enshittified app.

The Vinegar extension for iOS and Mac completely solves YT ads. Paid, and so worth it.

Thanks! My Fever feedlet failed to find it.

Please add an RSS feed to the Cloudflare blog. Much easier to read that way.
Another vote for Fastmail - family of four here and it’s been rock solid for several years now. A bit pricy but we consider it good value for money.
I built one in Flask, with background downloads and saved state/logs in SQLite. No JS, simple CSS styling with Bootstrap. Cool to see all of these. https://github.com/phubbard/ytdl-web

Re:ESP32 based old clock controller, with NTP sync on Sunday September 27, 2020 @12:15AM (#24604184)
They do make them in both watch and wall clocks. Stop2go is the branding. The rest are generic movements.
Re:The Case of the Top Secret iPod on Monday August 17, 2020 @11:17PM (#24194896)
Could easily be gamma or x-ray - those, if short enough wavelength, could go through the iPod case.

Talk about a cool story.

Re:Ask HN: What is your blog and why should I read it? on Tuesday April 07, 2020 @01:41AM (#22800590)
Mine is https://ultracrepidarian.phfactor.net/

Nerd stuff, timekeeping, watches and clocks, home networking, a bit of politics.

Re:Ask HN: What are the best unknown books you have read? on Sunday January 19, 2020 @02:23PM (#22093349)
“Finite and infinite games” by James Carse. Philosophy and hugely thought provoking.
That sounds like its been magnetized, which is easy to have happen and cheap to repair. You can DIY with a tool from eBay or amazon.

One of the big problems with mechanicals in this day and age is the prevalence of rare earth magnets in all sorts of places, e.g. the iPad has 11 of them, as do many bags. It’s quite easy to accidentally magnetize your watch, and amagnetic movements are still uncommon. (Omega, new ETA, some Rolex).

I’ve started blogging again and encourage others to do so as well. The HN crowd can lead by example.

Minimal politics, tech I find interesting, timekeeping, EVs... classic blog fodder.

Re:Monitoring Home Power Consumption for less than $25 on Tuesday January 02, 2018 @04:59PM (#16056159)
It was no problem at all - online form on the SDGE site.
Re:Monitoring Home Power Consumption for less than $25 on Saturday December 30, 2017 @05:33PM (#16038081)
I built a purely local version using the Raven USB Zigbee modem, flask and D3.js. Crude, uses SQLite but might be of interest. The XML decoding is only hard part really.

Re:Our Approach to Privacy on Sunday September 17, 2017 @04:11PM (#15271463)
True but incomplete. FB and similar make money on bulk collection. They do care but mostly in the aggregate. More data is directly related to more ad revenue.
