This incidentally made me realize that TiVo was the gateway to Netflix's streaming model. Record episodes and binge.
I was actually thinking more of “two legs bad, four legs good!”
How do you determine which ones are good to eat? Geiger counter?
This culture sounds awesome. Prescient and rare nowadays.
Agreed, it's a risk factor women won't willingly accept if it was the case with their pills.
Also, ballgame, I see what you did there.
Restaurant Depot, we all go there. At least those of us in proximity of one.
Been trying to do this on a smaller scale (pooling the needs of restaurants in foodparks), and it is horribly difficult. There are so many factors at play (demand changes day to day, spoilage, etc.) Even with software to automate the process, the delivery logistics would be too time consuming for your average restaurant owner to get into.
As a former real estate appraiser, I am very Interested in your methodology and approach in valuing homes. Lenders require appraisals, do you find that the value you place on each listing come close to the appraised value?
I wish I had saved the article but I remember reading somewhere (and just paraphrasing here) that the team that works on the iPhone make it good enough so you'll use your iPad (tablet) less, then the iPad team makes it so good you'll use your MacBook less, and so on. I think it's great forward thinking to be always trying to put one of your largest product lines out of business as a way to constantly innovate. In so doing, you hopefully have less chances of having to lay off tens of thousands of people because you tried hard to stay ahead of the curve.
The comment by flightcar employee was incredibly disturbing.
Glad to see you alive, battling, and bucketlisting, Amit. As a huge fan of Photojojo (considered applying a few times even), I am happy see that it will be in capable hands that you trust.
Make every second count and leave that shutter wide open. :)
Do you have an email? I'm in the industry.
I feel like any type of online review site must be moderated. I've seen firsthand the damage it can cause a legitimate enterprise. On the flip side, I've also seen the difference a 3 star to a 5 rating on Yelp can do, and it's not insignificant.
Was that a little nod to Apple in slide 42?
Write a really short sentence and your signature should say "sent from my iPhone"
The danger I meant were passengers getting robbed, raped, etc.
Just wondering, why sell and not raise additional funding? Or is that something you already explored?
Yup, in Manila Uber and similar services like grab taxi are becoming really popular because of the dangers in riding regular cabs.
Precisely. This is deep in the trenches data.
Amazon will gain by knowing what products sell most at what time of the week. It will allow predict where to roll out certain services. One day delivery? Done.
Amazon has a truck fleet that look almost like Foodtrucks. I've actually seen a retrofitted Foodtruck selling Fire's and the new Amazon Phone by the beach in Santa Monica.
This makes sense for more than just Foodtrucks. The pain of fees is a very real thing for retail startups and if amazon is also going to give us a terminal that can take the place of a $3k+ POS system, then I'd be seriously considering it.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted, I thought it was brilliant.
Student feedback should be valued for sure, but there has to be another way to evaluate a teacher's skills and ability to impart lasting knowledge.

Maybe a blurb from a source that is also curated and fact checked.
Plus, fine motor skills seem easier with my fingers rather than my whole hand having to learn to tilt in increments. I find that mobile browsing (especially with smaller text on my phone) involves smaller, fine movements that I can't imagine doing by tilting.
I can see how 2 days can be unacceptable, but those reasons are just plain bad planning.
>My conclusion is that to do lean successfully you also need to get off the web and get out and talk with potential customers face to face. Sometimes if you listen carefully they will hand you an even better idea.
Can't repeat this enough. TALK to your (potential) customers. There's just too much to learn from them to ignore this step. Not knocking on the mostly valid assumptions one can make off a/b experiments, but to tweak your product to its best potential, you really should hear and see your customers react, interact, and critique your product.
Lawyers, accountants, the biomedical industry, real estate, the potential for tapping those markets are there. I've interacted with a few, and from what I've seen, they're loathe to try anything new if what they have works. Uber will have some creative marketing to do to reach out to these potential customers.
Awesome. I actually filled out contact form. =)
True, I'd be more interested in their actual resolution process and the steps they take to safeguard domain owners.
It works both ways though I think, the same steps they take to secure your domain are the same ones that will make it hard for you to get it back.
