I started coding on c64 when I was 10. I'm close to 50 now and still code but it was much more fun 40 years ago.
I wouldn't say stock picking is a bad idea. If you're interested in finance and willing to learn how it works, it can be a great hobby, and you can potentially make money from it too. Otherwise, DCAing into an index fund is probably the easiest and best solution.
Yeah, I also got burned by this. I spent three months saving up and invested in Lucid Motors back in 2021, only to lose 98% of my money.

Start tracking your time with a simple app like https://github.com/projecthamster/hamster When you start the timer you should only focus on that one task. If you get distracted stop the timer. After a week or month you will have lots of info and it will be easier to decided what to do.
Re:Poll: Do you actually use the product you are working on? on Sunday January 26, 2014 @05:15PM (#7127250)
We're building an email client called zinbox which I use everyday. First it was hard to use but after a few ui change it started to get comfortable. I think it's really hard to develop software if you're not using it.

I had this same problem with my Galaxy Nexus. My sim card was really old and after the change and 4.0.4 update now it works great.

I like it. Menu bar is thinner and fonts are smaller. Also auto suggest on search is really cool.

I think saving time sales point is the biggest bullshit from G. Google should be more honest to there users. They should tell us that they need more page impressions+ads.
Re:Ask HN: What smartphone to get right now? on Sunday August 08, 2010 @01:17PM (#1585659)
Iphone UI is a little bit better. Android is open and google products works very well on these phones. Regarding development it's easier to develop apps for andorid. Only problem is fragmentation. Different screen sizes and os versions can make lot of troubles.
