Fun wrinkle with today's release: a US host that adopts DeepInfer to serve anything is now running a DeepSeek product.
I don't see any hosting loophole in that. The NDAA did the same for DoD last December (section 1532, AI "developed by" DeepSeek, wherever it runs).

Right, but... I can already store my credentials in a password manager and enable MFA. I understand the pitch, but Passkeys seem to buy me very little as a user and add significant brittleness.

I agree, and to keep sane I enjoy reading Boris Cherny discuss how he made his own discoveries while designing and building Claude Code cli.
To me he seems half led by measurements (like output quality) and half by his own learning-as-he-goes (like his inventing "plan mode" after an evening of vibe coding and realizing it kept implementing too early in the process).
Wow, their claims are that ordinary third-person video may be nearly as useful as expensive teleoperated robot data for pretraining. If so this is certainly a holy grail moment.
Plus they're open-weighting their World Action Model (!!)
Ordinarily I'd be very skeptical but Runway is a $5B company, so maybe this is what we've been waiting for re general-purpose robotic pretraining?
Does anyone have experience with Praxis-1 yet?

A lot of casual tech folks I know don't understand GitHub's role in CI/CD, and think it's "just" revision control storage. It's natural, since many people have no reason to know about systems like ghcr.io and npm registry if they're storing vibe-coded personal projects.
