I think google maps send you down weird routes to do traffic/police/accident reporting

I use gps all the time and go the same way all the time but it often wants me to take some side road when there is no accident or construction

Re:Ask HN: Are internships affected by recent layoffs? on Tuesday January 16, 2024 @05:49PM (#39020249)
I doubt it, most companies use interns illegally for free work, they are not supposed to replace regular workers or do work that generates money but as mostly a benefit for the intern

Re:We Turned the Tide in the Roach Wars on Wednesday December 27, 2023 @11:41AM (#38783693)
I always have a bottle of silver powder and when I get a new apartment (every year) I pull out the oven, fridge and dishwasher and put that stuff down after vacuuming the area.

One time the situation was so bad I also had to use the diatomaceous earth power in combination.

I stored all my food trash in my refrigerator for months an no food was left out that wasn’t in a sealed plastic container.

Along with having the apartment spray I was able to get it under control.

It won’t change, too much money is being made and they can buy all our politicians, all of them

Re:Amazon Prime Video content to start including ads next year on Friday September 22, 2023 @02:26PM (#37615740)
only buy it when you need it and when its cheaper than regular shipping, which is rare if you hvae over $25 of stuff.

I rarely buy stuff, there are only like 1 or 2 times a year when I need something fast that I need Prime. I try to get from Walmart of other sites if possible.

Also keep in mind that they destroy crops before they ever go to market, if they produce too much. This is how capitalism works, you have to waste resources to keep the prices stable.
