He is paraphrasing parts of 1984 by George Orwell.

Your comment must be sarcastic as well. Please tell me that you don't actually believe that the government should hold a monopoly on truth...

I hadn’t heard of this before. Cool. Going to share this with my team on Monday.
> For example, the CEO notes that the company’s internal principles ban certain uses of the technology, “such as to support mass surveillance or violate human rights.” It’s because of concerns like this that Google doesn’t sell facial recognition technology.

Extremely rich from a corporation that sponsors CAPE Productions and Cogniac. Google doesn't sell this technology directly, but lets its Gradient Ventures VC firm do it instead.

Re:Ask HN: How do you create a successful community from zero? on Wednesday December 18, 2019 @09:14AM (#21825000)
Peter Thiel has a good book on this [1].

The advent of GANs by Ian Goodfellow and the experimentation done regarding adversarial attacks was extremely important for the ML research space.
An easy way to get started that doesn't use pure ML is Markovify [1]. I used it for a couple of projects last year.

This is a great way to describe it. I love any Fountainhead reference.

I trained a model on Isaac Asimov stories to produce 3-panel webcomics that get served onto a Twitter feed a couple of times a day. If you'd like, I can share it and you can check it out!
Re:An Interactive Introduction to Fourier Transforms on Tuesday September 10, 2019 @08:35PM (#20935421)
Great job on the article! Really succinct and a good introduction to the topic. Would've really helped me in undergrad when I first was learning about the Fast Fourier Transform.

The GP comment was generated from GPT-2.

Not GP, but I stumbled across this website in college[1] that had a lot of interesting articles on anarchy and “the worker’s collective.”

I don’t agree with the viewpoints but I learned a lot from it! Really cool material.

I CTRL+F'd for Walmart in each article but didn't find anything. I thought that was the topic of discussion?
What evidence do you have that the CEO doesn't bring that much in value to Walmart?
This was pretty cool. For fun, I tried to get the best possible score I could, using XGBoost, without any feature engineering and achieved a MAE of 0.042422154541399665.
The problem that arises is that if you artificially inflate someone's wages to an arbitrary number like 21/hr, they might not provide enough value to economically justify the wage level they're set at.

It's not, and shouldn't be, an emotional argument. It's an economical one.

You're also paying for access to sell your app to the tens of millions of people that use iOS or MacOS.
Re:Startups from Y Combinator’s S19 Demo Day 2 on Wednesday August 21, 2019 @10:52AM (#20757772)
I thought the same as well.
This is awesome. Thanks for the resource.
Peter Thiel was entirely justified for every one of the actions he took and funded against a magazine that outed him as gay, while he was in Saudi Arabia.
I found my weekend paper. This sounds cool!
Take as many math and/or statistics classes now up to as high a level as you can while still learning effectively.
If you think it's a personal problem, I'd recommend going to the gym and starting a progressive weight-lifting program if you don't already. You'll build in confidence as you progress and get stronger, and that will spill into other areas of your life. It worked for me.
Re:Estimating Number of Jupyter Notebooks on Github on Wednesday May 08, 2019 @11:38AM (#19859861)
I've gotten this as well after uploading notebooks to github. It usually goes away for me after ~10mins after I've uploaded the .ipynb. I'll check this out though, thanks!
