Then why do you keep editing your post doing just that?

That's not how it works in any competently run business or public sector.

Nice personal attack, bruh.

> Have you considered

No, I didn't consider, I muttered "this is fucking stupid" under my breath and tossed the bread in my cart.

When you dilute the meaning of a warning so much, it becomes meaningless.

They're worried about the sacks when the coffee beans are being grown in lead- and arsenic-contaminated soil.
Yes.

Learn to control your emotions.

When I lived in California I saw one of those prop 65 cancer warnings on a loaf of bread.

Apparently burning toast can generate trace amounts of acrylamide.

This was enough to convince me a subset of these people are complete lunatics.

A 20 year old account should know better than to act like a prick.

Uhm, OpenBSD would like a word, buddy.

You saw it here first hand today, with half the forum losing their minds because they built their tower of slop atop a javascript interpreter which will be sunset in a year. And that dependency is professionally maintained, with a 12 month off-ramp.
You can search major news right now and watch Saddam Hussein having his neck broken, that was at the bleeding edge of video streaming.

This is a natural evolution of technology.

How many people outraged at this have clicked out of a tab of streaming toilet cams? It's greater than zero I assure you.

Reddit and other major sites are filled with gore, weird pornography, and all sort of atrocities imaginable.

Don't forget diaper fetish communities.

But this is where the pearls are clutched hardest?

You've decided this unilaterally for everyone else, including the families of the unarmed service members who were murdered?

All executions should be public if not for transparency's sake.

You can only cry "muh terms of service" so many times before it's dismissed with a collective eyeroll.

Unfortunately they blew their wad back in 2020.

Tell HN: YouTube is punishing logged-out users

YouTube has implemented hair trigger "anti-bot" measures that I suspect strictly limit the number of session cookies issued over a sliding window. If you browse in Incognito Mode it does not take much casual browsing to exceed this limit. It accuses you of being a bot and demands you log in to view any content.A great excuse for a scheme to force everyone to log in and be tracked.

What, exactly, makes it poor? Be specific.

Pretty sure MS's official documentation always strongly suggested using a real domain you own for AD.

You're implying that the guy married to an Indian, who named his son Vivek, is somehow racist against Indians?

Here's one for Android Developer.

Must apply by snail mail.

If only they made a device (with an OS perhaps) where one could apply to such things electronically.

Are you trying to justify the exploitation of this loophole?

Nearly all these ads say "Send CVs to [email protected]" they aren't even trying to conceal what they're doing.

There has to be a common thread here (ignore Canada's lack of boardwalks).
It was revealed George Michael donated millions of pounds to charity and individuals in need during his life... and never told a single soul nor felt a need to.

The army of developers stuck working helpdesk right now because they can't find work, would like a word.

Little did she know, the term would be co-opted by guys changing the color of a button on a web site.
UPS has a strong union. I wonder if s/he keeps his job.

Tell HN: Amazon forgot how to write and test code

On an older but perfectly serviceable PC with 16GB RAM, Amazon.com idles at 20% CPU and will spike to 80-100% when scrolling. The screen tears and typing sometimes takes seconds before characters appear. This is hilariously bad and a harbinger of the ongoing decline of the industry right now.

Re:Account bans on Reddit on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @12:22AM (#49988143)
The only winning move is not to play.

You should take your ban as a badge of honor, for having upset the worst, most petty, worthless people on the Internet.

Then go outside and take a walk and watch the leaves change colors.

> because AOL corporate email shared namespace with its customers

I wonder where this ranks in the top 5 stupidest things I've ever heard. It's bad enough merging customer databases when two companies merge.

No other major ISP has ever done this that I know of. Likely because it's completely unnecessary. Who made this decision (and why weren't they fired immediately)?

They didn't have this problem when they forced everyone to use Internet Explorer + ActiveX...
Did those people sign a legally-binding end-user license agreement?

Because what I see is essentially "they're storing stolen property" but the burden of proof is on the author to prove it was, indeed, stolen.

I imagine the bar for that is pretty high otherwise anyone could weaponize DMCA to target their competitors' repositories.
