Also for commercial stuff, there’s obviously a cost of switching. For personal stuff there is as well but it’s generally close to 0.
For me, for example, I wouldn’t switch from Apple Music to something that cost a penny less and was a better experience or whatever. Same with 1pass. I like the solution I have well enough and both are cheap enough that it’s not worth thinking about how to export/import or whatever and then learn the new system.
Tell me how I’m wrong. I’m all ears.
Gmail + all the Google shit I get for $16/user/month + the hassle of switching would be very hard to get me to move away from for something that is anything but monumentally better. Even then I’d be super skeptical. Google is good enough and I probably wouldn’t switch.
In the US if a doctor is remotely competent with money then this is very achievable.
I use a Mac at work and iPad Pro at home. Never once have I considered either usage “an ordeal.”
Do I just have a really high threshold for frustration or do you have a desire to complain?
Otherwise you would be excited about going to the village fete and realize that the poster doesn’t make it a bad event.
Additionally if you know your models aren’t going to get that much better AND you want to IPO in the near future, this is exactly what you would say.
Most people have access to at least one 16-digit code that will do the trick.
> I’d imagine those teenagers ended up with pretty good careers in technology?
The guy you mentioned doesn't seem to have ended up with a bad career in technology?
Is this the guy you’re talking about?
It seems to me like he’s saying that doing this thing would be 1) fun and 2) a great way to become employable in the future. I don’t believe he’s saying that this project would be some kind of job training exercise.
Raise prices 1500% and you'll find out that you were way underpriced, you'll create an opportunity for a competitor, etc.
This isn't cancer medication we're talking about here, it's some dumb SAAS product.
Edit: Appreciate the haters as always but can somebody please explain what they believe a company should be forced to do?
This sentence is fundamentally wrong. If the US government really wants to put Norwegian-owned OpenAI out of business they will do so.
OpenAI needs the support of the US to exist regardless of where they are headquartered.
Bro, c'mon.
If the US wants to interfere with something they will interfere with it.
To think otherwise is Euro-brain-maxxing.
What recent mass-media panics have been legit?
For example, I think crypto is dumb. But I was also not dumb enough to fall for the articles like 6-8 years ago about how it was going to use more energy than half the countries in the world by 2025.
Most people say they want the benefit without giving anything up. Tends to not work that well lol
