Re:The Tech Industry’s Darkest Secret: It’s All About Age on Wednesday April 24, 2013 @06:17AM (#5600695)
I totally agree. A lot comes down to the individuals ability to adapt and remain relevant, regardless of age.

Re:A month with Dell's Project Sputnik on Thursday February 28, 2013 @08:14AM (#5298497)
Thanks! I was hoping there weren't any good ones - it would have made my next hardware purchase decision easier. It might sound a bit ridiculous, but I really enjoy the workflow, automatic layout of windows and keyboard centricity offered by AwesomeWM.

Are there any decent tiling window managers for OSX? A quick google doesn't seem to reveal anything as awesome as AwesomeWM (or its counterparts).
Re:Lego Finds Discontinued Set For Boy Who Saved Up For 2 Years on Tuesday December 04, 2012 @09:35AM (#4871049)
At the age of 30, I still get a sense of excitement when I see Lego. I don't know of any engineers who never played with Lego as a kid (or even Meccano to a lesser degree)

I'm also learning Clojure and have been playing with Incanter. Seems quite a decent statistical library/environment. I had a few issues with lazy evaluation with the dynamic charting functions, but I think that has more to do with my inexperience with Clojure than a problem with Incanter. Also, I'm not to sure how active the project is?
Re:Trello vs. Asana - what is your favorite collaboration tool? on Wednesday August 15, 2012 @04:23AM (#4385107)
I'm giving Asana a long term evaluation - at least 3 months. So far I really like the following:

Its very keyboard friendly (I havent played with Trello long enough to assess how keyboard friendly it is)

I can create tasks in a project by emailing them in (lets you forward emails to Asana and turn them into tasks)

Re:Software design patterns for Machine Learning R&D on Wednesday August 15, 2012 @04:19AM (#4385100)
Was a bit disappointed - this is generally just good advice/best practice for any sort of programming task not just machine learning R&D.

It is however very good advice taken in the correct context.

what developing nation is that? (I ask because I also live in a "developing" nation which has some of the highest per capita broadband charges in the world)
