This is quite bad advice, coming from an old guy.
This is an awful and heartbreaking situation. Wishing the Palestinian people the strength to endure this difficult time and hoping for a future where peace and justice prevail.

Could you please clarify what you mean by ‘AI’?
Are there any alternatives? In german speaking countries we have GEO magazine, but IMO the quality is also decreasing every year.

I've been an engineer for ~15 years and made the switch to product roughly 6 years ago. While I enjoy product work, I've been noticing that my true passion is still programming/SRE (mainly Python) and I'd like to get back. I fear however that most companies won't consider me,a) because I'm a bit rusty or too old (35+)
b) I'm probably not up to date with the latest technologies.
c) I'll likely...
Oh, I missed this feature. Thank you very much!
A bit off topic, but does anyone know what tool the author uses to display the stats at the top of the terminal?
So we need monkeys with 100 arms, got it.
But with "background app refresh disabled", other apps (except maybe the ones from Apple) shouldn't be able to make any requests?

After a HN post two days ago, I've installed NextDNS on my iPhone and started noticing random connection requests to *.aliexpress.com, live.musical.ly, amazon.sa and others. What made me wonder is that a) I don't have "background app refresh" enabled, b) No app from TikTok, AliExpress or Amazon is installed and c) I had the phone locked ("standby") during the whole time.Does anyone know what...
Out of curiosity: How would you do that - "easier" and without separate DB?
Nice. Have been using django CMS since version 2.x and the decision to move away from django-mptt is a blessing.
Ah Netbeans! I remember using this IDE during my university time - and it still looks like shit after so many years :)
Take a good look at what JetBrains did.
Well, the website looks crappy anyway - the copycats should have invested 10$ and buy a template from somewhere.
Congrats, you won the "crappiest article of the interwebs" award today.
1. Author must be a very funny guy. 2. Commenting is part of the HN concept. 3. Author is super smart too.

After more than 12 months of development time, I've recently started a course/educational website and we're facing the egg and chicken problem:
Without courses, no students, without students, no teachers (who offer courses). What are some effective (and maybe crazy) marketing ideas to get some traffic (from both sides) to the website? We tried spreading flyers and scraping the web for...
What the heck did I just read?
I started a company and I hate excel.
Why is HN getting filled with these "genius" medium.com posts, which are basically just crap?
Does anyone know of a service provider which also allows you to SEND money (via wire transfer) to customers? I've been looking for that since a long time and contacted airbnbs provider, but no reply at all. This function is used if you are acting as the middle man between 2 parties.
Are you fscking kidding me?!
How did this shit get on HN?
I like atmail (which also includes calendar services etc.), but it's too expensive for my one-man development startup :/

I'm looking for something similar to Horde, which offers Webmail, Calendar support and similar. Horde looks like sh*t, so I'm wondering if there is a slicker alternative?
