How airtight is your House? You may be better off with a tighter house to reduce the infiltration load from the outdoor air and possibly section out the house so that post hurricane the primary living spaces are the only spaces that are constantly getting fresh air and there fore humidity load and for the non primary spaces, you dehumidify once and hold it there.

>I think a simple generator on an ATS remains undefeated from an engineering perspective. If you have an air cooled unit

Yes, if your outages are under lets say 10 days a year a generator + fuel will be orders of magnitude cheaper wrt TCO, unless your grid is super expensive.

Part time coconut farmer here.

Adding some numbers for a base line. (Note all of these numbers are almost the upper limit of a well managed farm with very good cultivars)

Best yielding palms yield ~300 nuts per pals at 70 palms/acre.

at 750g a dehusked nut with 20% oil yield

You get ~2.3 tonnes oil/acre.

For reference an a321neo burns around 2,300 kg of fuel per hour when cruising

Re:Hackers claim to have breached Okta systems on Tuesday March 22, 2022 @05:44AM (#30764272)
There is cloudflare PII in one of the screenshots, I wonder if Cloudflare was notified of access to their data in January.

Speculation from here on.

In my personal opinion,Cloudflare's actions indicate that Cloudflare was not notified of the breach until today.

```We are aware that @Okta may have been compromised. There is no evidence that Cloudflare has been compromised. Okta is merely an identity provider for Cloudflare. Thankfully, we have multiple layers of security beyond Okta, and would never consider them to be a standalone option.``` - @eastdakota - https://twitter.com/eastdakota/status/1506143353544478724
Ask HN: Where is the update from Okta on the breach?
It is normal for a provider to not have shared and update over four hours after a suspected security breach is exposed on Twitter?The lack of any communication from Okta seems odd.Okta's status page - https://status.okta.com/ Okta's trust page - https://trust.okta.com/ Twitter account - https://twitter.com/oktaDisclosure: I work for a company that uses Okta for SSO but I'm not involved with the...
The electricity infrastructure in the larger cities is not as bad as you mention.
The infra is bad in the rural areas and the quality of infra varies greatly by the state.
Digital ~230 USD - https://www.mcmaster.com/pressure-gauges/pressure-and-vacuum...
Analog gauge ~100 USD -https://www.mcmaster.com/pressure-gauges/pressure-and-vacuum...
Both of the above gauges come with Calibration Certificate Traceable to NIST
Thank you for making and giving the talk. It got me interested in lithography.
Do you have any plans to give an updated talk. It would be interesting to know about what comes after 7nm.
Wouldn't using multiple Spectrometry/Spectroscopy methods help in finding out the impurities in the process chemicals?
ICP-MS and NMR should cover most elemental impurities.
Its called a decompression valve.
They have replaced a pure mechanical linkage with a motor in each valve.
A typical 4 cylinder engine will now need sixteen extra motors to run it.
While I like the idea of controlling the timing of each valve interdependently for the other, I am not for the additional electronics in the engine.
The solution to this is to use Hybrid inverters+batteries with a auto disconnect on the mains.
The chiller unit consumes 1kW of power
and produces 1.7kW of cooling
Just a small clarification,
The chiller is rated at
1.7kW thermal while consuming
1kW electrical
None of the listed issues were applicable for the laptops that OP recommended
Also consider the following thinkpads
T5x0 - for a 15" Laptop
X2x0 - for 12" Laptops ( avoid the X2x0s)
W520, w530, P50, P51 - Desktop replacements 15" size
18650's have a 18mm diameter. a 32650 would make most laptops too thick
Wow,Solar prices in the USA are pretty high. I live in India where solar is under 1.2USD/watt installed. This is for a good module and very good inverter.
I have seen quotations for under a dollar a watt using cheaper components
It was md5 with a 2 alpha character salt
They used a 2 alpha character salt with md5 as the hash algorithm. Thats pretty bad
The Thinkpad T560 [1]
-Slightly thicker at 22.4mm
-With the largest battery you should get 16-20hrs of real world battery life
-Available with a 2880 x 1620 screen
Mordern batteries last a lot more than one year. Tesla is providing ten year warranties on their batteries for their daily cycle batteries. https://www.tesla.com/powerwall
$30/MWh seems to be very very cheap. That is half the price of the lowest bid in India. Is there a source for that number?
