Re:Ask HN: How do I legally build a remote dev team? on Tuesday March 21, 2017 @09:51AM (#13922154)
I want to get hired in your team. I am from Canada. Let's build up something at panbhatt @ gmail com. Plus transfer of money from US to Canada is too easy
Interviewers especially at the startup (where they think they would money by selling product) ask the questions like we developers need to use them daily by hand. These freaky people do not understand there is a difference between a DEVELOPER n a Dijkstra kind of developer. If I am a Dijkstra kind of developer i won't be working at your startup for some peanuts (either I will be at google/mfst or some other big company). Its not like you shouldn't know it there isn't any use of this. Illustrate a simple example through your career (<1% of all developers) where you have to innovate a SORTING/SEARCHING algo. This works happens in PHD where your sole goal/aim is to find/do something.

So interviewers rather then asking this bogus questions ask architectural questions, framework questions, coding things because this is what makes your product. For Sorting/Searching you will always use a library. Believe me, I hate being asked such questions during interview which can be found in a book. So please interviewers do ask relevant questions, we are there to develop your product not algo otherwise, if we are so talented, that definitely we wont' work for you.. :)

Re:Canadians working for US company remotely? on Wednesday January 11, 2017 @10:48AM (#13374730)
local market sucks here bigtime. Even 100k seems them to like ripping there finances off badly. I can't even understand. Despite of that cost of living is very high. E.x. Chipotle Burrito : US: 6.75$ CAD: 10$ Subway: US: 6.75$ CAD: 10$ >

I am really so pissed off these tech companies, who doesn't pay well but wanted you to take full responsibility as your are a labourer rather then a software eng.

Hi, I recently shifted from US to Canada and now wanted to work for a US firm, as bored of low paying salaries here in Canada with low quality work. Can you please connect me to some recruiters. Part=time/full time both will be ok. My email is panbhatt attherateof gmail.com

Re:C framework and how to deliver code as exe or on linux on Monday November 30, 2015 @01:32PM (#10650866)
We are already using that. however the intention is just to familiarize myself with the C ecosystem like build systems, frameworks, database integrations, web application frameworks (if there any), exactly like java has maven, spring, tomcat, jboss etc.

Re:Ask HN: How did you discover your talent? on Tuesday December 14, 2010 @11:30PM (#2007060)
Jot down the various things which keep your mind distracted and follow your original goal at the same time. Eg. if you want to learn Scala language and also wants to be updated about new technologies/frameworks/languages/news devote 2-3 hrs daily on updation, while 1-2 hours on your sharpening your primary skills. Once you are down a month you can easily visualize your current position and keep on refactoring that day by day.
